Shane Warne has passed away

Much respected. I remember watching the Gatting ball live in BBC, as a kid. Richie Benaud just kept saying it was one of the best deliveries ever.
Truly wonderful cricketer for 20 odd years.
I am shocked.
Rest in peace

No age. RIP Shane.

I warmed to him in his post playing days commentary career.
Same. I'd seen some clips of him on sky giving coaching tips to youngsters who had sent videos in wanting help with techniques and stuff. Genuinely seemed interested in helping.

As others have also said, a superb spin bowler and a top wind up merchant too. He'll be missed by hundreds and thousands of Aussies.

Really shocked by this; doesn't seem 2 minutes since I was watching the ball of the century and thinking who on Earth is this guy.

Of course, I've usually watched him with a sense of dread, but that does not detract from the knowledge that you are watching a genius of their art at work.

Tragic news. I met him once at Rockliffe after I'd played a round of golf. Will have been the summer of 2016, just after we'd been promoted. He was having a drink with Steve Gibson and Ian Botham and they were planning a charity event. All 3 of them were great with us, chatting and bought us a drink. Hated him back in the day when he played against England, but loved him after meeting him and he was a great pundit. Very sad news. RIP Legend.

A sad day indeed. A superstar in every sense, came across as down to earth and respect in and out of the game. R.I.P

I have had a **** day when it comes to bereavements. I woke to hear the sad news of Rod Marsh's passing and had just learned that Shane Warne had died when my phone rang to tell me that someone I knew had died aged 57.

Enjoy life whilst you can people and make sure you tell those close to you that you love them.

RIP Shane and thanks for all the memories.

My mum texted me to say Shane Ward had died. As sad as that would be, I was puzzled as I have never had any interest in the X factor.

This though, this is a gutter. Brilliant to watch as a cricketer and to listen to as a coach and commentator.

RIP

Really tragic news. He was the one English cricket loved to hate as he often tore us to pieces. After retirement though he showed himself to be a really good bloke when broadcasting for Sky.

I remember the England fans chanting to him during the 2005 "we only wish you were English, wish you were English". I think we all liked him really.

RIP.

One of the only cricketers I have watched who could genuinely get a wicket with every ball.

Always on the edge of your seat.

Nice area Shane.

I've just woken up to this awful news and thought that it was a printing error after watching last nights
news about the passing of another "Aussie legend " Rod Marsh.
Absolutely gutted.
It is going to be a very sad day here in Oz.

RIP to two iconic and influential Aussie heroes, Shane and Rod.
