Shane Warne has passed away

I read his post saying how sad he was about Rod Marsh’s death this morning on Twitter, so I genuinely thought it was a mistake when I read he had passed away.

Really shocked, far too young. The best spinner I’ve ever seen.

Awful news.

That's terrible news. I don't consider myself a cricket fan but recognised him as a true world superstar of the game in his prime and equally as a character who enjoyed what he did and that shone through.

It will be a sad day Down Under i'm sure as he seemed to epitomise what being an Aussie was all about.

Exactly this, always hated him against England as he just used to hammer us and really wanted to dislike him but loved him on commentary.

Awful, awful news and one of them news items just makes you feel numb.

Mike Gatting is still trying to work out how you beat him. He was a great addition to the commentary teams and will be sorely missed.
