Shamima Begum wins right to return to UK

What did I say that you disagree with?

I have never wanted to live in any other country, I had options for Ireland ( bent as a ten Bob) see tax deal with Google , a little matter of a 13 billion euro bribe, Spain their treatment of Catalan politicians, it makes you proud.

But according to some. They are better than here.

I made a post with a link which describes corruption worth billions coming right from the top which you don't read. Instead, in supposed mitigation you make a little list of things which you think aren't corrupt but which actually proves nothing.

Opinion.

😉

You know it's going to happen. I accepted it a long time ago.

Who paid for the lawyers for this appeal?

Oh, it's definitely going to happen: Just imagine if she loses her appeal, will anybody really force her to leave this country again? Of course they won't. Which other country would take her? None. If she were to be deported there would be thousands at the airport protesting about it, just like the people who stopped the deporting of that rap.ist last year.

When she comes back she will be back to stay.

You can argue that she was a brainwashed 15 year old. Good for you. But why does she want to come back? Because she has seen the error of her ways? Because she wants to speak out to other vulnerable young people to stop them doing what she did? Or because she will be able to access the NHS, benefits, free social and medical care, etc., etc., etc. You are very naive if you think she isn't thinking of that.

I agree with the report, it's outrageous, I wonder what % of annual government spend it is.

13 billion of the Irish economy is simply off the scale, but hey ho.

Which utopian white as white country do you prefer.

There are no whiter than white countries but some are more corrupt than others. In my time I have seen the UK move from being one of the cleanest to one of the most corrupt and people are turning a blind eye because y'know, we're not like that. We're British.

I disagree, but we can without a knock on the door, a needle in the leg, a train taking me to be retrained, Eric Blair was right on lots of things, but not all.

There is some reasoned debate on this thread, and Face Fuzz and Randy Savage. It's our problem to deal with so let's do that and let the legal system deal with the woman. Coluka, no QC would tell a client what to say if it is not true, it is subjourning perjury and gets a QC thrown in jail. Will she be coached on how to present herself, yes, of course, but no one in her legal team will tell her to lie.

Why is she not been tried in the country she committed alleged crimes?

If any one of us was accused of a crime, we would, quite rightly, want due process to happen. Now folks want a woman shot or locked up in solitary for ever, no court case, no process. I don't even think the people saying this nonsense believe it. If they do, man they are dumb.

What don't you get, she ****ed off abroad for what she believed to be a better life with a rag tag group of murderous barbarians who participated in kidnapping, beheadings, torture and other war crimes against men women and children. You better believe if ISIS was still running amok over there instead of been destroyed she wouldn't be crying to come back to this country which will hand everything to her on a plate.

I didn't know there were so many jihadist sympathisers on here. You learn something new everyday.

She is British therefore should be tried in British courts and put into a British prison, not left out there terrorising innocent people. It's very simple.

don’t think comparing the wind rush and terrorism is appropriate.
We didn’t want the white widow back either.
Nowt to do with skin colour. Her ideology is to destroy western values/beliefs. Impose different law and change the world as we know it.

I just knew skin colour would come into this discussion on here as it does on so many other threads when race and skin colour are not the issue. As it happens both home secretaries who initially made the decision to strip her of her passport and subsequently give support for the decision were of the same skin colour.

I've travelled much of the world and can categorically state that the above is a load of old tosh.
We are by no means perfect but hey, look around you.

There are a lot on here who have a great desire, like I, to see the back of this Government, install some socialist ideas like re-nationalisation of various industries, a national care service, near 5% rise in NHS budget, build 100k new homes, scrap pension age rise, scrapping UC, free travel for u/25’s, free broadband and much more. (All things that are laudable tbf). Following a national pandemic and a debt mountain, these things were largely unaffordable before mind and even less so now. However, some seem to believe we must have an even bigger magic money tree than May and Johnson found and that we can and should pay millions, as that what this Begum circus will cost. It will be lining the pockets of the wealthy law firms that they probably don’t like, as they are a superb example of whats wrong with capitalism (imho). On top of that she will cost £100,000s in future through state aid and supporting her safety leaving less money to go toward the ideals of the last Labour manifesto.

This case will be toxic to the bringing our country together, add to divisions, likely lead to unexpected unforeseeable consequences of increased terror attacks on innocent people or from far right violence to innocent law abiding Muslims. Create significant security Issues for our people and open the doors to others, all so someone who sewed victims into suicide vests and was involved with an illegal group that beheaded, raped Innocent Yazidi women, slaughtered people in cold blood and denounced the western way of life, all on a point of good old British principle. Her own family and solicitor have said they can’t be certain she wont pose a security risk if she returns. Despite all this, because she was born here and despite having rights through her family to live in bangladesh, using both International and Bangladeshi law.

Oh yes, of course, the old ridiculous argument that expecting her to live in bangladesh, a country she has never lived in before is unfair. Well, those who feel that is too harsh, tell me who was it that chose to live in Syria, to fight with ISIS? I can only assume they must have knowledge that she had visited and lived in Syria before and assume she didn’t have to build a life up from nothing over there In the midst of a battle where her life would be so much simpler and fairer than even in Bangladesh. she is such an innocent and would find it impossible in bangladesh If she had no other choice given that yeah?

This really is not about one 20yr olds rights. This is about the rights, security and safety of around 65M law abiding uk citizens and what we are prepared to accept as a nation, it will shape the behaviours of those like minded to Begum, affect the lives of the innocents who lose a life or loved one. I prefer prevention to cure personally. I really just do not get why people are happy to see our country go through this charade for someone Involved in such evil acts at huge cost to us all, risking our safety, on a point of principle. (awaits someone mentioning brexit). De radicalisation is simply far from guaranteed as recent terror acts have shown. Even If only one death occurs as a result of her return do people think it will have been worth it?

You are correct, the use of language there was slack. I have in other threads stated that the UK is one of the most corrupt countries in the western world and I stand by that.
