Schiphol 55 minutes

I was trying to picture it but couldn’t. There’s an EU and rest of the world but none for short connections.
If you go to the place where the zig zag starts the security people will help if your flight is within 30 minutes.

There's a sort of fast track lane, they'll let you in there.

If it's tight you might make it but your bag probably won't so pack a toothbrush etc and change of smalls in your hand luggage together with emergency snack.

It's a long taxi from landing to the gate, that's the big issue, tho not as long as the new Istanbul airport which takes flights 50 minutes just to get to the gate from landing it's ridiculous. I've missed my last 2 connecting flights in Istanbul and had to be put up overnight and home a day late.

I travel through there every two to three weeks, and I have to pass in and out of immigration due to working in the Schengen area. When travelling from Teesside you need to pass through immigration, but unfortunately you cannot use the electronic gates, but you will probably be able to use the fast track queue for short connections. On your return, UK passport holders CAN use the electronic gates.
I recently managed 50 minute transfer without too much stress, but I know the airport like the back of my hand.
If your departure gate on your flight to Italy is C? then fairly easy, if it is D? then a bit more walking, if B? then it is quite a long walk. At Teesside they may now at check in the departure point at Schiphol, but you still need to check when you arrive. A little tip, install the Schiphol App on your phone and you can check if your flights are delayed etc.
Good luck

A few years ago, we had a stressful 45 mins connection to make in Schipol, on our way to New York, we made it, problem was our luggage didn’t.
Yes went through there from Teesside with 45 minutes and a passport check to get to onward flight to Greece. Made it - and while it wasn't a sprint it was a jog and got to the back of the queue as they were boarding

Thanks all. Interesting read 👍

Conclusion of too many variables to say either way but it’s certainly doable if stars align.

If I miss the connection assuming they put me on the next one for free if there’s space?

If you booked the flight as one journey then the airlines have a duty to get you there. So yes, next available flight.

If for some reason you booked a ticket to Amsterdam, and then a separate ticket to your final destination then you'll have to argue your case.
