Ryan Giles getting biggest cheer from our fans

He did well when he was here....
His defending tbf was poor ...
He was offered more money in the PL and he took the bait.....
He couldn't get in the struggling Luton team in the PL....
He now isn't a regular in a struggling Hull team in the championship...
Hopefully for him - he'll have made some money out of his Luton and Hull move....
The pattern for Giles is - playing in struggling teams probably exposes his defending (stating the obvious).....
We don't really need another left back who can't defend - if we do go up..... He's not anywhere near the answer in the PL

We just need to move on now!

I'm genuinely not fussed about him coming back. He's had a woeful 18 months and absolutely nothing suggests he will be 'that' Giles if he comes back.

Also defensively no better than we have. A bit more quality going forward. He put in a few decent crosses today.

The biggest issue is that he's on about 2-3 times the salary he was on a wolves. It's a massive outlay for a LB. I imagine Hull will want shot in a heartbeat as a big earner.

I suppose maybe a loan would suit both parties? We don't have to commit long-term to see if he's still the same Giles. Also frees up the wages for Hull for any Jan signings.

Keiran Scott said the LB/LWB is becoming the hardest transfer target to find. The fact we've signed 3 LBs in 18 months shows that.

The amount of wages and transfer/signing on fee would be significant for any champo club. Especially for a fullback.

All very good points.

A true professional.
He did his job when he was here on loan and he did it incredibly well.
I don't think badly of him for choosing premier league over us.
Why shouldn't he take the opportunity to play at the highest level for highest wages he can get.
Should we applaud a good player when he comes back for another team? Yes
Does he owe us anything if we do? No.
Should we break the bank to get him back? Absolutely not.
He cant even get a start for Hull so what makes us think he will walk back into our first team.
If we can get him on a free for championship level wages he may be worth a try though.
It could be a good move for him and us if he wants to regain his previous good form.

Doak showed why we shouldn’t touch him. He can’t defend. He’s a wing back at best with a decent cross. Carrick maximised his impact by letting McGree and others drift into a secondary no.10 position giving him the space to operate.

Look like signing Louie Barry (left winger) instead?
Lots of noise on that signing, quite often we seem to agree deals and it leaks into the general internet and everyone is just waiting for it to
Happen. It did with Azaz this time last year and it did about 4 weeks before we signed Conway. I expect Barry to join in the first week of
January..big question is loan or permie

He's an absolute wing back ..
They changed formation today when he came on.

Saw the best of both his worlds today, good crosses and early delivery vs tortured by Doak when having to defend.

No use here right now , other than playing as a third string left wing .
Definitely not good enough to be a starting LB in this squad.
Would rather play Jones there.
