For the first time in his career he nailed down a position as first choice and was on an upward trajectory in terms of development.

It was always a dubious move to Luton for footballing reasons, but not financially. Fair enough, he made his choice and can't blame him for that its a short career.

I'd take him on a free and a modest wage, but doubt you'd get him for that. I think he'd be a risky signing for anything more than that and we owe him nothing.
