I would rather take a punt on Jerry Yeats from Blackpool. Scored more Champo goals than Stewart.

Stewart has only failed to score in three games this season. That’s some record. Meanwhile over at Blackpool Yates hasn’t scored since October - after that golden month he had.

I think stewart would make a good signing but we shouldn't be paying big money for him. If we can get him in on a p/x deal which see's one of our players who is surplus to requirements going the other way then its a win, win imo. I wouldn't entertain paying a fee of anywhere near £10m for him though.

Apparently Sunderland have an option to add another year on him, which makes these reports a little surprising to me.

But then we have no idea what his current contract has in it, or how keen Sunderland are to get some money in. It seems we're offering him bigger money than Sunderland too.

The stories about him moving seem to be persisting so I think a move is in the cards and whatever we pay it will be within our budget and not anywhere near£10m.

I expect coming from Scotland when the mackems were in league one his wages won't be prohibitive but I think the chance to sign him has now gone
