Applies to takeaway food too. ) Correction it's doesn't (I think the meal deal will help (I will keep away from tax payers subsidising meals out - imagine the Tory reaction if Labour had ever pulled a stunt like this?) but the main problem is that millions of people over the age of 50 who have a lot of the disposable income are very nervous about going anywhere enclosed with a lot of strangers in close proximity.
I took the family for a meal out on Monday evening and personally thought it was fine but my missus wasn‘t happy that they didnt have any windows or doors open. In the past she would have been complaining about draughts. Things have changed, staying healthy is higher priority than eating out.

VAT cut is the big one for me. Gives venues more leeway in getting customers back through our safe doors
Businesses are not compelled to pass the VAT cuts onto customers. They may choose to maintain the same selling price and retain the VAT % differential themselves.
Some places will pass it on some won't.The voucher scheme? Its for sit down meals only and at participating establishments not take aways.
As for the VAT cut we dont yet know if it will be passed on to the consumer or its there for support to business.
Where?A quick reaction to the low turnout numbers for meals at the weekend?
We've compared it to snowball effect. We know we will start small and as more people become confident and cases of the virus dwindle more people will come back.Good to see things are picking back up for those types of businesses.
Where?
