Rishi Sunak

But we are told it's a novel virus that hasn't been seen before so you can't compare it to other viruses. 🤨
It's novel, but that doesn't mean it has zero similarities to every other virus. We may be starting from zero with how to treat it, but we are not starting from zero with understanding how it can transmit through a populace. We might not have 100% understanding of transmission, but we have a damn good model already.

It still needs to transmit to survive, it needs a transmission method, it needs an asymptomatic period where transmission is possible. It has it's own specifics, but it's still a virus. So you can look at what other viruses have done in the past to make general predictions.

Is this the same chancellor who wanted to abandon a million children in poverty during the school summer holidays, or who wants to charge nurses for parking at their place of work? He now wants to hand out vouchers to middle class folks who like to eat in restaraunts.

The man is an idiot

Ok.

£10 off a meal for people who could have afforded the meal anyway- but foodbanks increasing and having to be shamed into feeding hungry children.

Those children only have themselves to blame, they need to display a better work ethic to drag themselves out of poverty....this is the Tory way

You so realise the £10 thing isn't to help the public it's to help businesses don't you?

I was out last night for a meal (very nice too) if could have got it for £20 it would have been a steal. I’ll be using it often during August if good eating establishments take it up.

Secondly the school and nurses thing. You do realise that these were the norm? If the pandemic hadn’t hit there would be no free school meals In the holidays and NHS staff would be paying to park. Do NHS staff just get free parking forever, where does it stop? What about free parking for all key workers? If not, why not?

And now the Stamp Duty holiday will just be a “bung” for second home owners and ‘buy to let’ landlords. How can first time buyers afford a house when they’re on the dole?

Do the police and fire service pay to park at their places of work, if not why are the nurses an exception.

I know that the GP practices don't pay for parking, nor do visitors, in Billingham. Not sure of others.

Parking should be free at hospitals for both staff and visitors, as it used to be and as it is across Scotland and Wales.

I went out for a pub meal on Thursday. You had to book in advance, so everything was nicely socially distanced. It was great to be almost normal again.

So it just nurses you are in favour of having free parking not all NHS staff, receptionists, admin, cleaners, porters and so on?

Parking should be free for all staff and visitors I agree but hasn’t been for a long time. It’s not big nasty Rushi Sunaks fault. It’s been like that under both labour and conservatives

Idolised by the Northern worker.

Saved many a northern job.

Very much in tune with Teesside, very much the architect of the compassionate Britain that has fought valiantly against this plague.

Tory power, Tory values.

Long may they get the Northern vote.

You do talk some nonsense Cooper. Yes I am aware that free parking for NHS staff is not the norm, I am suggesting it should be. Yeah let's clap them for saving lives but sod em when it comes to making their standard of living better.

On the subject of free school meals, I also know that this is not the norm through the summer break, but, and you already know this, to pay people to go to a restaurant for meals whilst the poorest children in society starve is, well.... you decide what it is for you. For me it is an absoloute disgrace.

Comparing this decision against what labour have done in the past is also idiotic, it has been done in an environment where the NHS has come into sharp focus and quite rightly so for saving lives whilst putting their own in jeopordy, but you also knew that too, didn't you?

I may just go back to ignoring your attempts to ratify a vile government.
