Renewal Announcement - 30th March Deadline

What do you suggest the club does then to raise money
Lower prices to make it more affordable for its target market, put a focus on reconnecting with the local area through various efforts & improving the level of football seen on the pitch, all of which would see an increase in numbers through the door which means an increased revenue from ticket sales and food and drinks sales. What a company shouldn’t do is continue to increase prices beyond what many are willing to pay as in the long run it will cost them more money

Lower prices by how much ?

Get a decent Marketing team who can send out a sympathetic email to their customers, appreciating their support and apologising for increasing their season ticket prices, rather than THAT email would be a start. (y)
You don’t need a marketing team for the club not to act like complete asrehole to the fans..

It’s not a marketing issue (which is poor) it’s a lack of common decency issue. We do so many things really badly.. we waste money.. we miss opportunities.. but this is just arrogant, aggressive and rude.

I mean the boro do under uterlise revenue streams for one we could agree a naming sponsorship deal for the Riverside. I don't care if it's named something stupid if it meant we didn't have to pay these sky high prices. Then you have the retail business actually have decent delivery fees, ensure you have adequate stock throughout the season and kits are available in all sizes throughout the season. As currently they sell out in September that must cause alot of missed revenue.

On season tickets I have a few questions.

1. Are half season tickets going to be available this season.
2. Will existing fans have the right to retain a physical digital season card and refuse digital card for next season. Arrangement were in place this current season for fans against going down the digital route.

For me I’d sacrifice the free drink if it means ticket prices are more adorable for the walk up punter.

Not too sure but I certainly wouldn’t be putting them up, one of the key features to running a successful business is targeting your chosen demographic correctly. It’s why you don’t see Brioni targeting their clothing to working class people or Rolex running marketing campaigns geared towards postmen.

Even if it worked out at 15 quid a game you’re not going to sell another 10 thousand tickets (which they’d probably have to do to make up the lost revenue) to watch championship football

Poor old Steve being bullied by those nasty fans.
Give your head a shake.
Gibson's got thick skin, I'm sure he wouldn't lose any sleep over receiving criticism from the fans.

At the same time though, I can guarantee that many of those who are asking for him to give an interview are the same ones who would probably just criticise regardless of what he says, so it makes you almost wonder what is the point.

Nah just want my club not to be shyt.. this is really shyt.

My gut reaction is that prices are too high, I could just about afford a season ticket but choose not to buy one as I don’t live locally. It actually benefits me if there are fewer season ticket holders as it’s easier to get away tickets.

The club’s communication is and always has been amateur. However, in the end we all make choices and if you think our prices are too expensive the only way to get them down is by not paying them. Other protests and complaints are fairly futile.

Then your point is plain wrong.

Since we were relegated we have been in the top 10 five seasons in six which I think backs up my claim “generally in play-off contention, except for the Woodgate season”. Let’s look at your equivalents.

Preston are the best. Two out of 6 seasons in the top 10 (not five, and no play-off cigar in either of them) and every one in the championship at least so at least they were always in the game.

Coventry have managed one in the top 10, and three in league one. Hull none in the top 10 and one in league one. Ipswich, none in the top 10 and four in league one. How are they remotely comparable? How are they remotely there or thereabouts to the extent that we are? How are they remotely our peers in terms of performance?
You're completely ignoring the money aspect here - we've all got the same net result (treading water in the Championship, a flirtation with the play offs without ever threatening to really win it) whilst their fans pay a lot less for it.

You're also ignorning clubs like Burnley who've actually managed to go up (with a smaller stadium than ours), stay up and still be cheaper than us.

This isnt just about performance, as you seem to focus on, but about performance & price combined - the fact is although we're paying above average prices we're not seeing performance above average.

Anybody with experience in business please feel free to shoot me down.

The club has always seemingly had this huge reluctance to sell the ground out at competitive prices. Their mindset always looks to be their financial/marketing goal is to make £1000. So they pitch to sell 2 STs at £500 rather than 3 at £400.

They don't seem ars*d one bit about trying to get an extra few hundred kids through the doors who will then mither their parents for sweets/crisps/pop etc......and then become the ST holders of the future.

The attitude with this season's kits also stinks of the same business model. If we order in and sell 100, and make our target of £1000 profit - job done. Doesn't matter if 200 fans want to buy the kits and £2000 profit is made.

Very, very short sighted and a bit of a kick in the bollox to fans when you see how other clubs look at pricing.
