Red? Wow.

But the Huddersfield player isn’t anywhere near when he wins the ball. He just goes down cause he sees the tackle coming in.
They did that all night

...but in reality how do you do a slide tackle one foot at a time?
To tackle head on from that position how else does he do it. Warnock was right before when he said these ref's are making decisions from a rule book. Another one that lacked common sense. Anyone who's played the game knows thats a great tackle.

Studs came up after getting the ball, but was he in control of his actions. Momentum carried him through the player, I fear the worst on this.

That doesn't actually matter in the rules (LotG for the purists).

Uncontrolled and agressive is enough for a red - whether you clatter a player or not.

Considering the way most of our players, Mcnair in particular, go down at the slightest touch I don’t think we can complain about other teams.

Years ago that would have been considered a good tackle. These days you risk getting a card.

Time for me to stop watching then if that is a red card.
Football used to be entertaining.
Absolute b***ks now.
Clowns ruining the game

They should announce slide tackles are banned if that’s where they are wanting to go and then it’s obvious and these sort of debates are done.

No 'aggression' allowed in football anymore? The game has gone to the dogs.

Slide tackles aren't banned and agression is allowed.

Uncontrolled agression is banned.

Launching yourself through the air into a tackle is banned.

And rightly so on both counts, in my opinion.

By definition (within the rules) he isn't in control when both feet have left the floor. There is no other interpretation as far as I'm aware.
Which is why I fear the worst. Got to add, that the rules are there to protect the players from serious injury. But the way players go down now, what chance have the refs got.

I think it was the refs assistant that convinced the ref to send him off.

Yes.
I posted this on another thread, but the ref changed his mind after speaking to the linesman - his hand had been in his right pocket but then he went to his left for the red card.

Might just be me, but watching it live I said "he's in trouble here" straight away. As Scrote said, that's been a red card for years and years, and Colin screaming in the face of the fourth official is just predictable tantrumming for no reason at all.
