Red faction today

There were leaflets taped to the back seats in their block. I’m not sure what they said but I saw a couple of people read them, ball them up and throw them down towards the Red Faction. I never heard booing though.

What was the craic with the lad with the Ireland flag in the stoke end...?
Seemed all good humoured from both sets of fans - I just couldn't make out what it was all about.

Im in the south and I can’t hear them anymore at any games, being down low makes it harder for others to hear and get involved it was better where they were before for creating atmosphere in my opinion.

I was unsure what the booing was for though

I thought the booing was from Stoke fans.

The Red Faction are definitely far less noticeable now, placed in arguably the worst viewing spot in a football stadium, but it's probably made more noticeable by the fact that the people where they used to be now are silent in comparison.

Sounded to me like the Stoke fans were booing their players when they went across to clap them after the game.

I don’t think the move has helped. RF were subdued today. That’s not a criticism. Just not at their usual standards. They’re a huge part of the match day atmosphere.

Like I’ve said before when I used to have my ST in the South. Too many people get their tickets in the South “for the atmosphere” yet do nothing to contribute to it themselves.

They were better placed in the middle section of the stand. It seemed to get more people involved.

BIt similar to the team really, RF and the new area still need time to gel together.

Can absolutely understand the flyers myself, im not in RF's block but hate when people around me are more bothered about having a laugh with their phones than the match. I can imagine in RF's block which should be the driving force of the atmosphere, its not reaching its potential as theyre seeing people not arsed about helping the atmosphere and looking on their phones etc, therefore producing this leaflet. Theres no denying that if there was no phones allowed in the stand and the majority sung and joined in then it would be a truly special place. You see actions like this from 'ultras' across the continent so its not just a Boro problem.

Then again, they are the new kids into that block, displacing people and entering a block of people who may not want to sign etc. I can understand them wanting to implement their culture but they cant just force it in.
The choice of songs too is harming them. They need to read the room and tailor their actions to whats happening. Trying to force new songs doesnt work, which is a shame as some of them are great, then repeating them constantly creates more of a divide.

Today their frustrations really messed it up at the end with that t shirt craic. Again I can understand they want a more hardcore fan base who just focus on supporting the team and not throwing a t shirt about, but read the room! Its created a huge divide now and they will have to do something to resolve that.

What was the crack with the T-shirt stuff? Could see it but didn’t get the context.

I think part of the reason for not wanting phones out is because they don’t want to be caught up in photos or videos that are posted on social… they can’t blur their faces out.

I'm south west upper and thought the RF were good today , but also noticed other songs came from other parts of the south stand , which IMO was good .
RF are great , keep it up.
The south stand other areas are as important to the atmosphere, so same , keep it up .
