Red faction today

Thought the boourns was for the megaphone ding shouting at everyone for not joining in their songs. He was loosing it in the first half tbf, shouting to get everyone involved before we scored when everyone was clearly more concerned about how many goals palmer had scored for their fantasy’s team. Big fan of RF but megaphone ding can do one, hope everyone else joins in a good old boourns anytime he starts shouting at everyone to join in a chant we dont know the words too

BIt similar to the team really, RF and the new area still need time to gel together.

Can absolutely understand the flyers myself, im not in RF's block but hate when people around me are more bothered about having a laugh with their phones than the match. I can imagine in RF's block which should be the driving force of the atmosphere, its not reaching its potential as theyre seeing people not arsed about helping the atmosphere and looking on their phones etc,
It has precisely nothing to do with them if other fans want to sit on their phones the entire game

The t shirt was being throw around the south stand back end of the second half. Bit like a beach ball.

T shirt landed with the doyle with a megaphone, who subsequently through it to the ground, other side of the barrier, on the grass.

I'm all for creating atmosphere, but being shouted at with a megaphone in a seat you've sat for 14 years, really grinds my gears. Created the atmosphere with your voices.

Subsequently every time the doyle with microphone shouted, everyone booed him.

noticed other songs came from other parts of the south stand , which IMO was good .
RF are great , keep it up

Did RF join in?

They are trying to encourage South Standers to focus on the atmosphere instead to make it a truly iconic place for noise and colour which ultimately would come if everyone sang instead of checking their accas, fantasy team, whats for tea etc.
If people want to check their accas or whatever else it's **** all of RF's business to be honest as they've paid for the ticket same as everyone else.

Let's be real any atmosphere isn't because of people checking their accas, they just don't want to be filmed.

I think it's a decent chant, but it's clear that almost nobody in the stadium knows the words to that "Boro's in the blood" chant, which is why it's only a small minority singing it.

I’ve been told off for using my phone in curva sud in Milan and the yellow wall in Dortmund and even on a tram in koln.
When I say told off I mean a guy literally pushed my arm down.

Curva sud and yellow wall are arguably the 2 best singing sections in Europe.

RF are trying to create something similar but obviously not as big and just really want everybody in the south to join in.
It is actually achievable I think but they need the buy in and interaction.

As posted above, there’s a lot of people who move over to the south for the atmosphere and don’t actually assist in making it better

I actually commented that the atmosphere seemed subdued, much quieter than normal yesterday, I don’t recall the Stoke fans being that loud either which surprised me given the number of coaches parked up, there were a good number of them given their recent results.

As for the phone signal being poor, I disagree, I have a perfect signal on my Phillips Savvy BT Cellnet phone although I’m still trying to fathom how to get the half time results on it.

They don’t own the stand, we all pay for the same tickets so people can do what they want
If they don’t like what other fans do then they can just move to a block by themselves

See I approve of RF and what they're trying to do. I don't get back up to Boro as much as I'd like due to working all over the shop in the main (family home in Leeds is commutable amd I can stop at my Mam's)

But whenever I take my 12 year old daughter to the games to try and prise her further away from her Leeds supporting Grandad's influence I ALWAYS try and get seats in the RF block? She loves the atmosphere there, joins in heartily with the songs and is singing them to herself for weeks afterwards.

But they're going the wrong way about it in this instance. The best thing for him to do would have been to chuck the T-shirt back to join in the impromptu game the fans had created, before resuming singing.
