It's this comment that has condemned him .. some people are still saying this about Ashley Fletcher 6 years after we signed him and he was anonymous last night!

I don’t want to write him off yet, however much of a disaster his performance was last night. I will say I don’t think he’s suited to playing on the right, everything I saw of him from before coming to us was coming in off the left.
His last few minutes last night when he went to the left he looked like he at least started trying things more in his wheelhouse, knocking the ball past his man and going around them to get on the end of it to run in to the open space ahead of him.
If we’re to go with him and give him further chances I think on the left is where it needs to be. That’s where he was in the early games for us where people initially were excited about him.

This thread just shows how any early optimism has quickly drained away. Not only for us fans, but no doubt for the players and staff too. We seem to get worse every game, and just trying different players with the same formation, tactics and approach is clearly not the answer.

Not so sure, makes poor decisions and his execution is erratic. Needs a fair bit of coaching and maybe some time on loan in League Two

Facing a stark reality, we are dreadful.
The squad we have.....I have to remain hopeful there is a combination, a starting 11 that Carrick will somehow stumble on. The foreign players settle, start to be more comfortable. We start to play as a team
But I'm struggling at present to see it. There is very little there. The team selections are head scratching. The tactics one dimensional. The subs are appalling.
It's always a concern when the subs are brought on and change the game for the worse (Jones was the exception last night).
As for Silvera ......can't even be bothered to go into any form of critique. It's been said many, many times. I hope he comes good, I really do, but currently he would easily make my "Worst ever Boro XI". Gonna be an incredible turn around if he comes good.
