Really like look of silvera (posted start of season)

My biggest issue with him so far is that he almost always makes the wrong decision, Runs into blind alleys when he should pass, shoots when better options are available and either overhits passes or completely mishits them.

How former top level footballers on our bench can sit and watch that and leave him on the pitch for 88 mins yesterday I have no idea.

He needs a lot of work but could be a decent player there but a long way away at the moment.

Silvera is being made the scapegoat.I remember the fans doing the same with Tavanier now he's in the premier league.
He's not.

The team is dreadful. He isn't been singled out, but his performances - especially last night - have been abysmal.

Should have been subbed at HT with Engel. But staying for 80+ minutes as he was getting progressively worse.......🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Tav was never ever anywhere near as bad as Silvera - just some of our fans did the usual "slag off the local lad".

What does that mean Diego?

Am I being thick, I don't get what you mean?
Nah I’m just being a bit silly. The leaked teams are coming out. Presumably from someone who isn’t get a look in. Barlaser is my guess but that’s all it is.

Can’t compare Tav and Silvera. Even when Tav’s end product was bad, you could still tell he was a footballer and was pretty determined. On last nights showing, silvera wasn‘t showing any footballing intelligence and his confidence was evaporating with every passing minute.

Silvera hasn’t even olayed 10 games for us, let’s give him a chance eh?
I'm all for giving new players a chance, but he has nothing.

Last night was up their with one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a Boro player. Probably surpassed by Engel, so having them both on the pitch was like playing with 9 men.

Silvera couldn't pass, cross, touch was poor, tracking back non existent. Lost the ball continually. Couldn't beat his man. Ran the ball out of play. And that 60/40 which ended up being smothered by the keeper......🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

The basics you would expect from a pro just aren't/ weren't there.

Add in his horrible misses against Coventry and Huddersfield.......going to be a monumental effort to look like a decent Championship player.

Silvera is terrible for sure but it isnt him that conceded 14 goals in 7 games and it wasnt solely down to him that we looked like a team of strangers last night with no cohesion or energy

In the starting line up ?
Absolutely not..
We're not in a position to see if he "comes good " as a starter.

He needs to drop into the u23s / reserves for 10 games .. build some confidence, work on his defensive discipline / composure / decision making.
As currently he's running down blind alleys, struggling to weight his passes, offering minimal support to the fullback and is only threatening the crowd when he shoots.

We haven't the luxury of points to 'first team develop ' players.
Get safe , let him improve ( maybe) away from the starting 11, go from there.

90% the same development needs for Rodgers as well.

Silvera's biggest crime was when he got put through last night and completely fannied out decided not to sprint allowing the keeper to come and claim it. Id hazard a guess if he sprints he'd have got there first and knicked it away from the keeper.
Or at least maybe got a penalty. He backed out of the race and should have had the chance of a penalty minimum imho.

It was terrible. He actually seemed to slow down rather than accelerate/run faster to get there first. It was a decent chance. He didn't even really have to break his stride. Dunno whether it was confidence or bottle or both, but his overall game was bad throughout.
