Some of you will remember ray192 from the old board.

Sadly Ray passed away this teatime. He suffered a heart attack at his home, his wife Pam had called the ambulance crew/paramedics but after trying for some time they couldn't save him.

Another loyal Boro fan has now gone to the Holgate End in the sky - halfway back, just to the right of the goal.

Up the Boro.

He and I been pals for 10 years.
He used to travel with Derbyshire Reds to all the home and away matches.
Was a Season Card holder in the North Stand.
He had a wicked dry sense of humour.
Spent his life working hard as a miner.
Smashing bloke.
If you read this Pam - stay strong.

I shall miss you mate.
RIP

Really saddened by this, Ray was one of the boards posters in my early days of posting that I struck up a really good rapport with. His cyber cafe was a great place for us to start the Boro day with a smile, a laugh and a warm welcome was always assured, plus, I could always order a bacon sarnie without any of the calories.

Top man, top poster, top Boro fan, as said above.

Rest in peace Ray.

That is very sad news. His ball by ball commentaries on the old Board for a period were legendary. Huge condolences to his family.

He was our very own Richie Benaud. His cheery good mornings every day used to hit the Board every morning. That and his kettle going on.
Just had a flashback to the Board ten years ago.

Ray would post at about 8am having just got up. We would say good morning to him and then wait until 11.00 am and his comments on the days play at the cricket.

Never met him but I am sure he was a loverly man. Sleep well fella.
