RIP Ray. Sorry to hear this, he put the cricket score up over by over for years and then packed up. One of the nicer members.

Nice is exactly how I thought Ray would be. It's a much underrated quality and it shone through in his posts.

RIP Ray and my sympathies to those who knew him.

It certainly did. So sorry to hear this news about Ray. In times when social media has sunk to some pretty depressing levels politically we could all learn from how Ray conducted himself online. Just a really upbeat positive poster who was courteous with everybody.

Sad news, never met the guy but enjoyed his posts...

I have thought before how strange it is when members who I dont know and never met pass away and how it makes me feel...

Theres probably quite a few we dont even know about. I think I only know one maybe 2 people on here personally and neither are prolific posters so I might just slip away quietly one day...

I think it was grantus? That had the biggest effect on the board when he tragically passed away...

The old holgate in the sky has received another good boro fan with ray though... RIP.

I engaged with Ray quiet a bit back in the day...made me smile a lot .sad news.. RIP

Oh that's so sad. Never met Ray, but always enjoyed the cricket banter and dropping in to the Cyber cafe for a cuppa. Always a gentleman.

Sad news indeed.
While working away I always visited his cyber café. Always an upbeat, polite and happy character on here.
Sincere condolences to his family,

RIP Ray you will be among friends in the Holgate in the sky.

Very sad news this. RIP Ray. Can only reiterate what others have said. His cricket pieces were great. Without appearing to be nosey, how old was he?

Ray and his cafe.He always granted my Sunday two pints of lager and a bacon sarnie please Ray on the old board.Kindest wishes to his wife and all his family.X.

RIP Ray,
Legendary cyber breakfasts, anything you you requested and served with a cyber smile.
Great Test cricket craic, massive Dennis Skinner (Bolsover MP) fan too.
Lovely man though we never knowingly met.
