Queens of the Stone Age

Enjoy tonight guys - very jealous.

Edge taken slightly off it by the fact they're headlining Way Out West so I'll be seeing them in a park in Gothenburg next Summer although I'm sure it won't beat the globe!

Thinking of doing Way out West next summer also. Have you done it before? Worth a visit?

Thought they were decentish tonight. About a third brilliant songs, about a third good to really good but about a third a bit nondescript. Don't know many of their songs so maybe that didnt help.
Enjoyed the show though. Deep Tan were ok and Chats really good. Its amazing though how much clearer the sound becomes for the main band. IF QOTSA or their management worry about getting blew offstage by the supports it really is time for them to quit.
Not a huge fan of the Globe although it is great for watching bands but toilets and bar facilities let it down.
All in all a decent night. Had a far better day on Saturday but enjoyed tonight as well.

On the down side. From where I stood every time I looked stageward at J.H I had vision of Keir Starmer leading the band. Will have nightmares about that for a while  :ROFLMAO: ;)

We really enjoyed it, set up takes some getting used to.

No camping so requires a hotel in Gothenburg, worth booking up well in advance. The festival is in the main park in town, about a twenty minute walk (or five min tram) from town centre. Two main stages opposite a giant field from each other so can theoretically watch every band on the top two stages. Third stage is a (decent sized tent). Afterwards your ticket gets you into (a queue) for venues across the city with further gigs. Best thing I saw last time was Ty Segall in a venue about the size of the empire.

All food on site is vegan and drinking alcohol only happens in "bar areas" - these are usually within good view of the stage but when we went you couldn't just amble round with a (very expensive) pint. This might have changed last year but not sure.

As for the attendees, Swedes mainly which means behaviour is impeccable usually, no drunkenness etc - really good, chilled vibe.

See they opened with Avon, a pleasant surprise!

These sets are definitely heavier on the new album than the festival slots in the summer.
