QPR Pigbag

When the Power Game started to play and the Boro team came running out from the tunnel at Ayresome I actually used to cry with emotion when hearing it. My Dad caught me a few times and just smiled but then again it was the 1960's and I was only a kid. When I was 28 years old and he was 65 and we were reminicing about my childhood, whilst sat in the Mary's Club in Grangetown ( he lived in there for 30 years! ) he brought that up. He said something along the lines of " Never mind the Power Game Son , The Boro will always make you cry ! I think id actually already figured that out !

Dunno what it is but the Power Game and Thunderbird theme tunes make me go all emotional still and i'm 65 now ! Youd have to be a child of the 60's to maybe understand?

Anyway Pigbag has always made me cry, unless I stick my fingers in my ears !

When I hear Power Game now I am transported back to Ayresome in the 70s.
The smells, the sounds, the sights, the magic.
The ball appearing from the tunnel then the Boro team following it.
None of this both teams coming out together nonsense, (that was for the FA Cup final only, so nothing to do with us at all).
Spine tingling. I'm filling up.

It might be controversial but I’ve never liked Pig Bag… there’s plenty of good songs which are more personal to our local area I’d prefer!
If two monkeys banging a drum was given the Fat Boy Slim Remix treatment and it was played over and over again when any Football Team scored or came running out of the tunnel that din would become synonymous with that team and embraced by most listening to it ,as they claim it as their own.

I'm applying the same logic to those who like Drill Rap or anything by Taylor Swift , they think its wonderful music just for them.

Ive never liked the Pig Bag theme , I think its only a few notches up from 2 Monkeys banging a drum. . ;)

Opera music must be rubbish then.
It is. That was my point!

Even if you like Bohemian Rhapsody, it could still be rubbish.

I’m all about the Hammond organ and the “reach ups” in our version. Pigbag original really isn’t my bag, and isn’t the Boro track either.

I find Power Game absolutely terrible 😅 Pigbag is so upbeat and really gets the crowd going.

"Reach Up" is probably the easiest remix Oakenfold has ever done. Probably cobbled it up one Sunday afternoon after he'd finished the Brookside omnibus.

It's always hilarious when dance acts using a pseudonym "perform" on Top of The Pops though. Like seriously, what the **** is this?

Opera music is fine but generally spoiled by the singing which is basically women wailing and men looking far too pleased with themselves.
Funny you should say that, when I first introduced my wife to Andrea Bocelli the first thing she asked me was

"Why does he look so smug" (He was singing with his eyes closed and smiling)

"Err...he's blind."

The Thunderbirds theme tune would make a great run out tune.
At least to those of a certain age.😉

Could be worse that ready to go song the mackems come out to is F***ing awful just like their team and fans

That funeral march song they play is even worse.

Its called Dance of the Knight.

Rhymes with Sunderland are Shyte, so quite fitting really.
