QPR Pigbag

Who started using it first, us or them? Their fans seem to believe we pinched it from them in '98 when they beat us 5-0.
I thought we started using it from day-1 at The Riverside.

We definitely started using it first day at the Riverside, 1995.

I probably prefer Power Game, but maybe that belongs at AP.

Pretty sure QPR used to run out to London Calling.

The Gazette have us as using Pigbag since 1996 in an article from 2011 about replacing it with the Power Game, so QPR likely stole it from us.

I'm surprised we didn't steal it from Liverpool or Manchester United to begin with.

The Paul Oakenfold version we use is far superior. And yes we used it in 1995.

I don’t remember Power Game ever being used at the Riverside until they tried to bring it back during the Mogga era.

No it isn't.

Anyway, Wiki says:
The band made their first recordings in 1981 at Berry Street Studios in London. Later that year they released their first single, the instrumental classic "Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag", on Y Records, distributed by Rough Trade, the title being a clear pun on James Brown's "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag".[2] The track quickly became an underground dance hit, selling many thousands of copies and charting well. The song, and the remix "Reach Up (Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag)" by Paul Oakenfold under the alias Perfecto Allstarz (which became a UK and Irish Top 10 hit in early 1995), has become a stadium anthem in English football (particularly in the Football League), originally adopted by Queens Park Rangers supporters in 1994 after some of their fans took it on as an anthem at a music venue in Westbourne Park, often played or chanted before a match or at half time, or after the scoring of a goal, and often incorporating the name of a player into the song.[3]

Do you remember that time they played a song each time Boro got a corner? It only happened for one game. Viv Anderson came up with the idea and was in the Gazette on the Friday before the game, him and Robbo both wearing giant foam fingers and Errea training gear. It could’ve been ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ they used. I can’t remember the song.
