He is but I’d temper the comparison with Juninho. He was also playing against League 2 opposition.

Juninho also looked great against lower league opposition.
Seeing as he’s being compared to Iniesta, Scholes etc I think it’s a fair comparison.

Juninho looked good against any opposition. And as for Foden my belief is, good a player though he is, that’s over the top.

Fair enough.
I did say shades of Juninho, the range of passing, the way he dribbles, the stature.
One of the best young English players I’ve seen in a long time.

Great player is Foden I think we all agree.
Like to see him perform week in week out for City rather than as bench warmer for good parts of the season. Maybe De Bruyne’s injury now will give him an opportunity to show it against top class opposition consistently.

VAR might have disallowed 3 of the 4 goals in that game.
The game was much more enjoyable for not having VAR interfere, but that’s a whole new thread.

Two offsides from Man City defo, I don’t see the point of it existing tbh.
How can it be a fair competition when it’s only used in Prem grounds? It’s makes it an absolute nonsense.

Both of City’s first two were very tight but I don’t think either were offside.
Foden was definitely onside for his goal (Jesus was offside on the cross you could argue - won’t let me upload the photo)

Did someone just compare Phil Foden to Andres Iniesta?
Foden is better at 20 than Iniesta was at 20. Just my opinion though...

Maybe what Phil Foden is doing is what Man City and us were expecting Patrick Roberts to be doing by now. Always available, taking people on, looking for the forward pass. Roberts seems to be devoid of confidence at the moment. Hopefully he can get it back in the second half of the season.

Foden's been the best player for his age since he was 14. He will be absolutely class if he can avoid injury and keeps his head screwed on.
