Phil, a different bias youtube channel gives a compelling argument about a coalition government led by Labour as the best outcome at the next ge to push for pr in future ge's which will destroy the tories as they now stand and their policies and ideology. They will have to shift to the center to have any chance at future elections.
A Labour majority may convince Labour to ditch pr. Not a good outcome.

Fabio, I don't entirely agree that we are in a mess. I think some good could come from this. Electoral reform is a must and it is more likely now than in 2019

I hope you are right but given we have now reached a point where the man in charge is capable of changing the rules to ensure he doesn’t have to follow the same ones anymore, or can break them without consquence beyond simply saying ‘soz’, I think we are in a very dark place.
How far will he go to protect his power? What else can they change on a whim, before we get to a point when electoral reform can occur?
It’s very worrying.

You are of course right that we are in a dark place right now. All of his actions are triggering a change of attitude in the electorate that may well last for a decade or more.
What I do agree with, but you didn't say, is that if the tories win the next election, it will be the last democratic election we will have.

Voter ID will be in force at the next GE. Add to that the gerry-mandering that is ongoing and the net election will be a mockery of democracy.

Hang on. Let me just get this straight.
The fella who was a ministerial aide to Priti Patel - that's Priti Patel - has resigned because of "the toxic culture that seemed to have permeated Number 10”.
My god, the culture in No 10 is too toxic for someone who is in a Home Office that is responsible for a disgusting ramping up rather than damping down of the hostile environment, to the extent that we won't even make it easy for fugitives from Ukraine to come here and anyone else we will try to deport to Rwanda, and is headed by a woman known for bullying.

My biggest fear
Together with postal voting. The Electoral Commission claimed it’s wide open to manipulation.
Idox was in control of it in 2019. There were large percentage increases of PV in certain constituencies.

In a month or two another change will be made, viz: in order to align and make consistent the sanctions for breaking the code the requirement to resign will be removed. It may be replaced by a requirement for the minister to 'consider his/her position'.

Only hope is that Bozo goes the way of Trump. Just took everything too far, and in the end it was only his rabid sycophantic followers who blindly voted for him. Lost the middle swing voters.
You just have to hope the damage has been done and he's too self obsessed to notice the damage he's causing. Surrounded himself with thick as mince yes men/women who won't question him, so no-one to keep him in check.
The big worry is the absolute stupidity of large numbers of the British electorate.......
