Over 20 Get your jab here

I’m 59, something to look forward to next week then 🙄😁
I hope you are OK - tis like I said very strange the way different people react - of the I think 9 people I know who have had the AZ Jab 3 have been affected to a greater degree, 4 have had some smaller effects and 2 just brushed it off with little or no complaints (apart from the 'dead arm' which seems common to most.)

Anyone else heard about taking a couple of paracetamol the night before the jab and then again 4 hours before the jab in the day????

I’d heard younger people got it worse, but I suspect thats just rumour. It is what it is, it’s going in regardless 👍
There seems to be no consistency or reason to it.

By coincidence myself and two co-workers all were vaccinated independently, and in different parts of the country on Sunday. We're all 52-54 years old.

The others were both rough on Sunday night and were laid up on Monday. I just had a sore arm for two days and only felt vaguely flu-like on Monday night.

Hopefully you get minor symptoms. I also take the view, the more affected by the vaccine, the more likely you were to have been really sick with COVID.

Maybe they may have health condition underlying? 16-64 years old can get their vaccine now then people in their 40s would be next after that health condition underlying category. Hope this helps. 👍
Weirdly they don’t. 2 of them are in stokesley , one got a call from they gp to pop in and get one , one went to Northallerton and the other lives on the outskirts of york has just changed gp who said whilst your here let’s book you in for your jab. All a bit random really !

Had mine yesterday morning, all afternoon felt like I’d done a bong, head full of cotton wool. Today tired, a bit achey, dead arm but otherwise ok.

My OH was laid up in bed with shivers for a couple of days.

Still feel a bit weak & that's two days after the vaccine, though 80% better than yesterday, off out for a stool hopefully feeling better afterwards, if this is the 1st jab, not look g forward to the 2nd, but as has been mentioned a small price to pay

Had mine yesterday - felt tired after but had a nap and popped 2 paracetamols and felt fine. Woke up this morning feeling like i had the starts of a cold (apart from the snot) so have popped another couple of paracetamols and I'm back to feeling ok.

I had mine yesterday at about 4:30pm (Astrazenica) was rough as a badgers behind in the night. Woke up at 1am boiling hot, and shivering, felt freezing but wasn't, and my whole body ached from head to toe. Feel much better now, but haven't slept really. My hips and legs still ache and my head is banging (think really bad hangover!)

My arm is not aching so much really.

I'll be reet tomorrow, but it's been a hellish night and an uncomfortable day so far...... But it was well worth it!

Very similar here.

I had mine around a week ago and felt fine on the day. I woke up early the next morning freezing cold and aching everywhere. The next day it felt like I had the hangover from hell. On the plus side there was no arm pain at all.

The day after I was 100% fine.

Had the astrazeneca jab on Sunday at 5pm.
Felt ok Sunday night apart from feeling very hot for a couple of hours.

By teatime on Monday I felt dreadful with shivers and feeling extremely cold and aching all over with a banging headache..
Took 2 Paracetomol tablets which definitely helped.

Felt slightly better on Tuesday no doubt helped again by the Paracetomol taken as often as recommended.

I've heard stories that the reaction to the 2nd jab is generally worse than to first one.
Also, there are rumours that having a bad reaction to the first jab could mean you've actually had Covid 19 previously?
If that's true in my case, then I have definitely been asymptomatic.

It's clear from peoples comments that the reactions to the vaccines are very varied.

I've also read that rumour about bad reactions and previous covid infections, almost like your body is saying "oh ****, not again".

On the subject of seemingly random invites for vaccination appointments, my brother who is perfectly healthy and year younger than me (under 40) had his first dose last week. Felt like **** the next day for 24 hours.

Had my Astra Zeneca jab yesterday afternoon, got a sore arm, my back and hips ache but 2 lots of paracetamol helped make me feel a lot more comfortable. I have felt a bit tired most of the day but so far it hasn't been too bad.
