You maybe ok. All I had was a sore arm and tiredness the day after.Friday for me at the Riverside looking forward to it after reading all the comments on here.
Apparently with AZ the reaction to the first jab is worst. With Pfizer it’s the second.Had the astrazeneca jab on Sunday at 5pm.
Felt ok Sunday night apart from feeling very hot for a couple of hours.
By teatime on Monday I felt dreadful with shivers and feeling extremely cold and aching all over with a banging headache..
Took 2 Paracetomol tablets which definitely helped.
Felt slightly better on Tuesday no doubt helped again by the Paracetomol taken as often as recommended.
I've heard stories that the reaction to the 2nd jab is generally worse than to first one.
Also, there are rumours that having a bad reaction to the first jab could mean you've actually had Covid 19 previously?
If that's true in my case, then I have definitely been asymptomatic.
It's clear from peoples comments that the reactions to the vaccines are very varied.
Hope so!Apparently with AZ the reaction to the first jab is worst. With Pfizer it’s the second.
Yep, as hoped. I feel so much better today, pretty much back to normal.Very similar here.
I had mine around a week ago and felt fine on the day. I woke up early the next morning freezing cold and aching everywhere. The next day it felt like I had the hangover from hell. On the plus side there was no arm pain at all.
The day after I was 100% fine.
Yep. sounds like you got the same treatment as me. I pretty much said the same yesterday (had mine Tuesday), and feel absolutely fine today. You'll sleep well tonight and wake up feeling good tomorrow.I had mine yesterday and similar to others on here, felt fine all day then at about 8pm bang, felt like i'd been hit with a cricket bat, felt weak and became really cold but was boiling, awful nights sleep if that's what you could call it and woke up with a hangover from hell but with no alcohol drank, as day's gone on i've picked up and started feeling ok, worth it in the end.
Yes. And only till Monday to get booked up or wait a month for another opportunity.Do we need to change the title to this thread - is it now Over 50? Is that correct?
Yes that's right Rob.Do we need to change the title to this thread - is it now Over 50? Is that correct?
Jeez, I spoke too soon, woke at 3am, aching and shivering, couldn’t get back to sleep, temperature and headache to boot today, working from home, so battled through to about 2pm, then went back to bed, just got up now.......this is horrendous.........actually worse than COVID itself which I had last month.Just been down the Riverside now and had my jab, in the last hour, hopefully no after effects......very well organised, no queue, was through in a few mins...
Maybe you've reacted worse because you've had Covid already.Jeez, I spoke too soon, woke at 3am, aching and shivering, couldn’t get back to sleep, temperature and headache to boot today, working from home, so battled through to about 2pm, then went back to bed, just got up now.......this is horrendous.........actually worse than COVID itself which I had last month.
Someone else said that today, talk about a double whammy.....

There was a study on the Pfizer jab, and "about a third of vaccine recipients who had previously had Covid reported having a whole-body side-effect (such as chills), compared with 19% of those who had not had Covid".... So looks like there could beSomeone else said that today, talk about a double whammy....
I had the AZ but probably the same principle, hopefully not as bad 2nd time round. There was a study on the Pfizer jab, and "about a third of vaccine recipients who had previously had Covid reported having a whole-body side-effect (such as chills), compared with 19% of those who had not had Covid".... Indeed. I was assuming it would probably be a similar principle. Interestingly, there's a difference between the two vaccines as to when people get the worse side effects. Apparently for the AZ it's more typically after the first dose, but for Pfizer it's quite often after the second.I had the AZ but probably the same principle, hopefully not as bad 2nd time round.
Thanks mate, hopefully over the worst and back on form tomorrow...Indeed. I was assuming it would probably be a similar principle. How are you feeling this morning? As I said in the thread further up on this one. I had exactly the same as you've described. Felt absolutely fine yesterday. (had it (AZ) Tuesday afternoon, was bad in the night, felt quite rough Wednesday and was ok again on Thursday morning)Thanks mate, hopefully over the worst and back on form tomorrow...
