Just had my vaccination this morning - my normal doctors moved to Thorntree surgery for the vaccination clinic. Very well organised, clear signs all around the area, with hi viz staff pointing the way to the one way system.
Then queued for about 5 mins. Asked a couple of questions but most had been answered in advance and were displayed on a print out to read as queuing. Then jabbed in clinic. Told not to drive for 15 mins. Given a card with time of vaccine on and told to keep it safe for next vaccine. As it is through my doctors they will make contact a week before for that appointment date/time.
All very smooth - just like the flu jab last year I didn't even feel needle go in. Arm might ache a little more this time I think because the last flu jab I didn't feel during, after at all and left no mark whatsoever.

Had my 1st AstraZeneca jab earlier today, I've been tip top since, went for a walk, had tea and all good...since around 19:30 I've noticed my limbs feel a bit heavy, I'm colder than normal and I have a little buzz in my head.

Temperature is normal using the electronic ear probe thermometer - but definitely seems to be provoking a response.

Expect you arm to ache for a few days!

Went down to the new Riverside vaccination centre this morning - presently 500 capacity daily from one pod - a mobile centre in East Stand car park where multiple people can be vaccinated at the same time, partitioned and then move through in a one way system to a socially distanced waiting area where you stay for 15 mins before being able to walk back to your car.
This will move to 1000 per day capacity once Pod 2 is ready, it is already there and signed etc.
Today Bernie Slaven, Steve Vickers, Gary Pallister, Craig Hignett, Neil Bausor, Leo Percovic and Neil Maddison were receiving their first injection. There was media invited down to cover this as a launch which will hopefully quickly see thousands more Teessiders vaccinated.

Anyone else struggling with the website and booking system?

half the time it says the nearest centre is Leeds or Washington, then when the Riverside or Darlo arena appears and give you a date then a time to pick, it bombs out saying there are not appointments available for the time you have selected.

I know it must be a busy site, but it feels like amateur hour.
