No new striker

Injury prone or they've just picked up an injury?

They're half decent strikers, the disruption, and awful start, haven't helped the pair. One is settling in, one is still growing.

We've not been poor when it comes to goal scoring, how many extra had we scored last season at this point, with Akpom flying?

I've not considered us to be a realistic promotion side since the summer, more to do with how many we concede.

I have faith in Lathe, if he gets a run of games he'll do well and I think thats maybe why we dont seem as desperate as some think we should be.

I'm hoping it's also a sign that hes close to a return from injury, have we had a recent update?
I dont i think we will be lucky to get 5 more goals out of him this season. His finishing on the whole is very poor.

If you look at latte's goals, he's averaging a goal every 180 minutes (1 in 2). He needs a good run in the team when back and he will score. But, I still think we need at least another back up, it's a lot of work for 2 strikers to get through.

Still growing...Coburn is 21 not 16

He gets a goal every 187 minutes, practically 1 every 2 games. With a good run and a bit of confidence I think he can improve. Hes an absolute nightmare for any defense as well, he would create so much space for Forss, Mcgree and Azaz.

To add, Mcgree is a goal every 139 mins and Forss every 134 minutes. Lathe, Mcgree and Forss are crucial for the remainder of the season.

If we can keep Hackney, McGree and Lath fit for the remainder of the year. I'd fancy us to make a good charge. New fullbacks 'should' inspire confidence throughout the defence and more options available once we get these couple back. Get there and you've got a chance

I get the positivity but let’s be honest neither are good enough to fit a promotion chasing side.

We need a solid finisher that we can rely on to get us goals in games we are dominating but at the no we don’t have one.

With a decent finisher we’d be a lot higher in the table.

No play off position. Its been obvious for ages we need a decent striker. LL and JC are not good enough and are io injury prone to allow a concerted push for a play off chance.
Possibly true if nothing happens in the next 2 days, though good news is that we should avoid relegation, stop tearing our hair out and be ready for 2024/25 season, if we live that long.

I’m not worried. I think what we already have are good enough. No need to spaff loads of money just now. If we fail this season then yeah, striker in the close season and go again next year.

But they are not though we’ve seen that in games already.

I agree we could do with signing a striker but with a decent central-defensive partnership we’d be higher up the table imo. We’ve conceded more than QPR. We’ve conceded 3 or more against Coventry twice, Leeds, Plymouth, Bristol City, West Brom. We are far too shaky at the back.

With fewer injuries we’d be higher up as well.

What I would like to see from now, or when McGree is back, is a settled eleven. That’s Ayling, Fry, VDB, Thomas, Hackney, O’Brien, Forss, McGree and two from the remaining attackers. They need to build patterns and understandings. The constant chopping and changing does my head in tbh. I know we’ve had injuries so it’s not really anybody’s fault but we desperately need some continuity now.

neither were cameron archer, akpom and ramsey but it doesnt stop people wanting them back every 5 minutes as Corcaigh_the_Cat says its more down to our defence.

You dont get promoted conceding the amount we do.

Eh? Those players are obviously good enough to play for a promotion chasing side. They'd walk into probably 20 of the teams in our division.
