Things you don't say on a first date.Must admit I’m in the ‘not massive’ camp.

It is for Carrick make no mistake about thatit’s not the b all and end all.
AM - You can't help but laugh at some of the posts. So, no money, no manager, no players…
1. Where's he going? West Ham?, Man United? Newcastle? (if he got us promoted yes i.e I don't think his stock is as high as it was in the Summer of 2023)Too many unknowns right now to even think about an exciting season.
1/ I doubt Carrick will be here
2/ I do not believe we have the funds as it stands
3/ Hackney will be gone regardless but even more so because of point 2
4/ Howson will be another year older and whilst he isnt what he was, having him and Hackney both either gone or finished is a worry for the spine of the team
That in itself tells me it could be a very tough season with a new manager and a shoe string budget. It feels very negative at the moment doesn't it? But i see more concern than things to be excited for looking ahead to next season.
Whoever comes down whilst maybe not as dominant as Leeds, Leicester and Soton are proving will still be a damn site better than us and there are plenty of other teams around us who will be expecting/hoping for a push next season.
If Carrick stays he risks his reputation if we get nowhere near. There is a real chance that West Ham sack Moyes and it could be soon and when they do, Carrick will be top of the list. He has a strong reputation already and may decide its too good to turn down, especially with promotion almost certainly not happening.
We have but i don't see that £18.6m being used solely for new signings, do you?
Hackney, like Carrick is highly thought of. He is a big part of the current England U21s and is constantly linked with a move, i think this summer he will be snapped up and we wont stand in his way.
Agree re Howson but like everything, its who comes in. This is the risk, whatever budget we have, whatever loans we have, every player is a risk at this level and you need a lot of things/luck to line up for it be successful - like we had in January last season. This season, the opposite.
I hope i am wrong on all points by the way, just my feelings right now
West hams fans are a bit daft.I’m not sure Carrick’s stock is as high as we think.
What’s he achieved? Play off beaten by the mighty Coventry?
Palace are looking for a new manager and he hasn’t been mentioned in their search.
Massive gamble for a Prem club - mind you West Ham are a bit daft.
Be good to know if there is precedent of a manager of a decent Champo club going to a decent Prem club
Bangura has pace - what have the Romans done for us eh?Don't disagree, but they are the only ones as we are now seeing. I'm not talking about sprinter pace, just enough pace to get a yard on people and open space up all over the pitch.
And then again in Jan probablyI’m sure McGree will be gone, and quite possibly Hackney as well - obviously he’s a local lad and has been saying he’s wants to stay but if a big offer comes in he will be sold. There will be a massive overhaul of midfield needed if these two go, along with probably two forwards, a left and right back, and maybe a centre half. We could be looking at a very very different line up come August
I always think buying players in January is like admitting you got it wrong in the summer - and some of our January signings over the years have been absolutely horrendousAnd then again in Jan probably
I was talking about those bought in sept then being sold in JanI always think buying players in January is like admitting you got it wrong in the summer - and some of our January signings over the years have been absolutely horrendous

I dunno, I find it is better to set realistic expectations, cuts down on the laughter.Things you don't say on a first date.
