Next Fans Forum - Monday Oct 20th

Officially tickets are not transferable but Boro do help make this as easy to do as possible. They are realists and recognise that families and friends etc share tickets.
I have put on the other thread why we went digital and why lots of other clubs did this season.
Basically some of the turnstiles were starting to show their age. The company gave Boro an option to make them digital and so it would be much cheaper to do it now when they needed a system upgrade anyway. Future proofing if you like. That decision was made after about a year of research and working with Man City and other clubs that had already gone digital. By the way I know this now but didn't know it at the time. Anyway, it means the stadium will be much better set up for the next 20 years and it will mean in future that there will be benefits of people not having to print at home or have to wait for the post etc. Also, forwarding online can be potentially a lot easier than waiting on the corner to hand over your season card and then remember to get it back for the next game etc.
Forwarding online was disabled for the last game, had to get tickets printed off for friends. Not sure if they have turned it back on.

Jesus - talk about sweeping (and false) generalisations
The context of this is all about generalisations. How can it not be when it’s been suggested to lower the ticket price for anyone in between the age of 60/62 to 65, purely based on age?

In terms of it being false, having done a quick bit of research on disposable income, I will hold my hands up and apologise. The most recent uk data shows the mean average for those ages 55-65 is very slightly lower than the averages in the brackets from 25-54. It is however significantly higher than 18-24 and 65 +. That said this doesn’t spell out the context that there are more people aged 55-65 who are likely to have finished paying their mortgage and work reduced hours to reflect lower outgoings.

None of that changes my mind that it’s still a really poor idea to benefit a very narrow demographic who don’t need help, rather than the fan base as a whole.

GRFZ: Are there tickets available to buy on the day? If so, why were there no season tickets available in this area? Can these be either made available online or instructions on how you do purchase these?
There is an area in the north stand now for GRFZ match by match tickets – not available to season card holders. Tickets are not sold on the website for this area, club need to ensure children are under 11. The advice from MFC is that any families interested in the family zone / attending Riverside for first time and are looking for tickets match by match for this area would be to contact: supporters@mfc.co.uk

Thanks for raising this @fmttmadmin
I guess it answers my first question but not really the others. Unless somebody reads these minutes they would still be none the wiser that these are available. I will use them going forward but I do think this information should.be clearly visible on the ticketing website.

Nothing in there about wearing betting logos in schools which I thought had been mentioned?
it was:

"Gambling logo on shirts
We can explore adult sizes minus gambling logos but would be permission from sponsors to do so, also the club did stock this previously but there was little to no take up. The club will explore the option for team to wear non branded kit to under 18 events."

Anti Racism Game Promotion
Feeling that more could be done to publicise these dedicated games as message is still missed. Discussed what other routes do we have for promoting messages around this other than social media, programme, big screen, PA, and T-shirts worn by players as some supporters did not realise it was a dedicated game. Could we do something with the corner flags, guest speakers in the fanzone, in game notifications on Boro App, a video by a player on the lead up to the game. MFC noted these to take away.

It’s not the anti racism game.. it’s the hold club we are no where near visable enough on our anti racism stance. Guest speakers blah blah blah.. the visibility is not there. Even the minutes show that! Shying away from an issue and pretending it is not there. Not good enough.

Pretty sure it was said on here that the sponsors don’t have to be on the replica kit. As for them being on shirt sizes for U18s.. they shouldn’t be there 100% the same reason why they are not on the 8-9 year old replica shirts and why our U21 teams don’t have them on. the idea that the club did this previously is a fcuking joke.. barely able to sort the stock out for any kit so talk of little to no take up is embarrassing.

Have the club considered reviewing the club badge?
The club have but such a project would need to be done correctly and thoroughly considered.

Glad the club acknowledge that the current badge is shyte. Not such a big project to change the badge back. Really easy actually.
Simple. Job done. We don’t want another totally gash new badge to replace this amateur effort which was forced upon us.

You don’t need permission not to have a gambling sponsor on shirts that are intended for U18. We’re not supposed to be doing it in the first place!

Thanks for asking the Priority Points / Video pass question Rob - appreciated

Not just on my question, but the overall impression I get back from the club on everything brought up at the Forum is ..... we're working on it ...... we'll take that away and look into it ....... we're having an investigation ....... we're waiting for seatgeek ....... but nothing ever seems to come back

There is a lost of this - I can understand the first time it is brought up, they need to do some work on it. If fans have to keep asking and reminding it is an issue than the club currently shouldm be criticised. Some issues will always be issues though such as ticket prices, for example having an adult £300 season ticket would cut the club revenues.

The Club did come up with a membership scheme after it was brought up in the Forum.

They also reduced the pressure to join the Digital Ticket scheme by removing the need to "opt out" to go non-digital. This could have been after some fans (through the forum) said they were anxious about been pushed into technology, they were not currently equiped or able to deal with.

Quick agenda for this evening's meeting..

Ticketing update
Priority point questions
Lateness of away tickets
GRFZ
Stadium
Safe Standing
Safety in stadium
Park & Ride
Kit Stock levels in retail shop
Foodbank dates
Supporter Group updates
Rob - on the agenda was kit stock levels in the retail shop, however I cannot see anything in the minutes to show this was discussed?

Are these the correct minutes?

Eye.. how long has the membership thing been going on for tho?

There are issues that can literally be an overnight fixt at very little cost and they just go nowhere.

Who brought up the 'Anti Racism Game Promotion'? It's such a dip and swerve setting up for a self congratulatory pat on the back.

THE BADGE! after 16 years and it still isn't landing.. maybe it is just time to scrap it.

The membership scheme wasn't first brought up by the forum. It's been requested ever since they dropped Boro Pride. To the forum's credit they kept up the pressure on the club to bring it back.

Judging by the minutes it appears the club are willing to broach the subject of the badge and carry out a review which is positive.

With things like a badge change, you would think the obvious thing would be just to put a vote to the fans wouldn't you. Maybe anyone with 3+ priority points gets a vote.

I'm not sure what the cost of changing the badge would be mind. Probably a lot more than you would initially think.
Replacing all the signage around the ground, training ground etc. Replacing all the uniforms. All the wasted merchandise that would need to be either discounted or scrapped. It won't be cheap.

Definately @B_G ...you'd hope there'd be some form of consultation with the fans before any decision was made.

You wouldn't change everything in one go. You'd spread the cost over a few seasons. There'd be some revenue recouped with fans clamoring to but more from the club shop than they usually would due to the new badge. So factor that in to the cost exercise.

Both our sons cannot make midweek games, they live in Manchester and Newcastle respectively, so we are issued with paper tickets to attend. We are long standing members and have always had the free drink offer, but they cannot be redeemed with the transferred paper tickets that are issued. This robs us of that benefit, so can the club sort this free drink situation which was never a problem with cards etc, prior to this season?
