Newcastle takeover .

I just meant any foreign investment, not this specific takeover.

It’s a tricky one where to stand with it, we live in a country that has historically built wealth from the suffering of others, as a country we have all sorts of financial links to these countries, products we use every day will come from the same countries, businesses have all sorts of links with them too.
Football is built on people with very questionable backgrounds and plenty of clubs are benefitting from it. We are going for a World Cup in one of the countries with the worst human rights records. Where do you draw the line? And why is this getting so much backlash when I people who are just as bad have such an influence in almost every aspect of our society?
I think its a bit worse than that when you have a country which treats homosexuality in some cases with the death penalty and at the very least flogging and jail. To say we've all done things bad in the past is the most pathetic of excuses

It will be a big problem if they start to rival City, Liverpool, utd etc. Would imagine it will impact our support alot in years to come. Kids growing up on teesside have the choice of watching a average champo team or travel 40 minutes up the road for top end prem / champions league football.... The floaters and glory hunters will end up Newcastle fans
Was ever the way. It's why we're BTID.

I am pleased something good has happened to those poor people in Newcastle.
Can you imagine how awful it must be to be a Geordie.
They may be rich but they are still Geordies.
I won't have to feel quite so sorry for them now.

Probably means they'll soon be battling Everton for that coveted 8th spot. If you let the lot who bought Citeh and Abramovic in no reason not let the torturers have the toon. The fans want to be careful next time they have a protest mind!

What do you mean pathetic excuses? Excuses for what? its a fact. If you think this country has built its wealth in a completely clean and ethical way, which has given us all the life we have today I would suggest taking a history lesson

Do you boycott the businesses that have links with Saudi in the UK? What about their questionable links to the UK government?

This country is awash with Russian, Chinese and Saudi money. These people own most of London, Nobody gives a ********. But when they have the gaul to purchase a football club all the human rights issues come to the fore.

People frequently complain about that thoough?

The very fact you know the regimes own plenty of property in London is probably because you've read or heard somebody complaining about the fact they do.

A house also has far less global presence and relevance than a football club.

As I have no control over these regimes and how they spend their ill gotten money I do not stress about it. If one came in for the Boro I would not stress about that, much like Man City, Chelsea, Wolves fans.

It’s nothing to do with “Ill gotten money”. They made their value through their oil. It’s their evil practices and behavior that’s the issue.

The new owners have their own 'arrangements' for dealing with protesters.

Your damn right it's a fact we have done bad things in the past we still are not least selling arms to this crowd. However hiding behind not doing the right thing and calling out hatred and intolerance and human rights abuses because we've done similar in the past is pathetic. We should shout from the roof tops we won't tolerate hatred and torture of minorities turning a blind eye and endorsing their legitimacy in football is supporting this barbarsim.

Russian oligarch Abramovich Oil Money squeaky clean.....my A******
Chinese money at Wolves with worst human right in the world.

A bit like saying you don't give a **** about BLM because you haven't suffered racism

I don't see much protesting by geordies so I don't see how any other club's fans (incl Boro) would behave any differently, sadly.

They're that blinded by their hatred of Mike Ashley that most of them would celebrate Hitler taking over.

I'd still expect the majority of Middlesbrough fans to care more about money and trophies than ethics, but I doubt it would be 94% supported like Newcastle.
