New England kit

I think the Boro home kit should be pink with a lemon band and puce piping. After all its just a shirt and the Red and White colours are synonomous with nothing and mean nothing to the area of Teesside. 148 years is way too long without a change . Theres about 90% of posters on here who should think thats a wonderful idea because after all its just a shirt.
Not quite getting it there.

My mate Trevor told me the other day that h'ed seen a full page advert in Sports Illustrated Magazine a few weeks back, paid for by the North Korean Football Association. It was a Competition open to anybody all to design The North Korean Football Shirt for the Next World Cup.

The winning design will be chosen by two eminent judges and very well respected individuals . That being the Marketing Manager of Nike USA in conjuction with the Chief Executive of the English FA.

The prize is £10 million and the winner will be flown all expenses paid to meet the President of their FA and President of Everything else, I think ? - Mr. Kim Jun Ong to have tea and biscuits and collect their prize.

Strangely not one person has yet to submit an application ?

Come on lads get your felt pens and crayola crayons out !

Doesn't really work, but good effort.

They've not changed the shirt, they've added a little symbol on the back of it, that a bunch of daft people have been whipped up in to a frenzy over by outright bigots.

I'd have no problem with a Boro kit having a little symbol on the back of the collar.

If they'd changed the entire England top in to a daft colour, I'd understand people kicking off.
Instead they've released one of the best tops in years, that's now been hijacked by a bunch of a whoppers trying to get a culture war started.
I had to say shirt because there isnt a Middlesbrough flag. Ok lets say for 111 years the Transporter bridge as it actually appears and looks in the flesh was on all Boro shirts over that period. As far as im aware its always been painted light blue and its appearance as never changed. Its Teessides bridge, Middlesbrough's bridge and a symbol of those who worked their guts out in the steel works. Its makes us proud, thats why its still standing. What else can we point as a symbol over such a prolonged period?

Lets paint it pink , totally change its design and shape, so it looks nothing like it is and stick it back on a Boro shirt. Or what about the Eston Hills . Infant Hercules and all that ! Lets say an image of those in black had been on Boro shirts for 134 years but then it was replaced with a pink Silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Doesnt matter though does it , its only symbolism and means nothing.

If it gets people this wound up then yep let’s do it.

It’s a shirt, if you don’t like it that’s ok, if you do that is also ok.

As a famous philosopher once said, it doesn't take much to see that the problems caused by little a football shirt don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.

The flag of England has only been on a handful of England shirts in the entire history of football.

It hasn't been on one in years, it's in no way a regular feature.

If they want to put a rainbow Transporter Bridge on next season's Boro top, all power to them.
It wouldn't bother me.

The actual Transporter Bridge would still be the same, just like the actual flag of England is still exactly the same.

Again as I explained earlier, please don’t be using silly things like facts on such a complex argument.

The Barton man has said it’s wrong so that’s all you need to know.

The Transporter Bridge was originally Red.

It was painted blue in 1961.

Precisely. It's not the cross of St George and even if it was, it's never been a permanent fixture on our shirts regardless.

If they'd changed the colour of the Three Lions then I could understand some of the outrage (apart from the outrage coming from the screaming bigots.)
They have changed the colour of the three lions on shirts, before haven’t they?

Not on the home shirt, I don't think.

Away we definitely have. Blue and Red versions for definite. But that's no different to changing the colour of the Boro badge to match the colour of the shirt.

Edit - Red Lions in 2012-2013. I'd completely forgotten about that!
