Multi centre holidays

Massive first world problem question.

Totally stuck where to go on holiday this year. We aren’t constrained by school holidays for the first time in ages, and are looking for somewhere warm and sunny for September for a fortnight with probably a week AI and a week travelling.

Everywhere we’ve looked has pros and cons - most long haul appear to be the wrong season (hurricanes in the Caribbean, rainy season in the Far East) and not massively keen on AI in Europe.

Any recommendations? Been looking for weeks, too many options 😀

pre-pandemic I was spending mid Sept to Oct in Turkey. Probably the best month for weather there - mid to high 20s, sun and less of the tourists. The travelling is around that history thing.

A bit more adventurous? Brasil. The beginning of Spring so south of Rio is near perfect. Will be there March/April. Autumn weather is great too. The physical geography is spectacular, but it is a big place.

I saw South Africa above. So the same issue. Can be dangerous (but avoidable).

Destinations without right wing populists as presidents are also available.

South America on the pad for 18 months time as our nephew expecting to be in Argentina, Chile or Uruguay with uni for a year.

Not convinced about Turkey…..

We did one in Poland but that was the height of the summer.

How about Mexico. Some great AI resorts in Mexico are of a high standard, then you can be off touring for a week. Internal flights from Cancun should be reasonable and the climate good?

Alternatively try the Far East. Lots of options over there.

You could go to one of the more southern Greek Islands for you AI week then do a bit of Island Hopping for the remainder of your holidays.

Northern Spain, start in San Sebastian, go to Santander, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Burgas and then finish near A Corina.

The weather in September would be perfect

September October are the absolute best in the Canaries, beautiful weather, the sea is at its annual warmest, Southern end of Lanzarote is beautiful and a great island for days out. For the travelling element it’s a cheap flight to Madrid and loads every day, hire a car there and tour the non tourist areas of Spain - it’s amazing with great history and cities.

Id do the travelling part first then chill.

years ago we did a week in Sri Lanka followed by a week in the Maldives.

would 100% recommend both places, first week pretty busy seeing and doing stuff, second week in a beach house on stilts in the ocean, snorkelling and sun bathing.

Me and the mrs are thinking of a weeks sailing down the nile on one of those river boats looking at all the sites and then all
Inc I’m a top hotel likely in sharm or Hurghada with an amazing reef

Went to Lisbon, fantastic city much better than Barcelona, and then off to Cascias which is only 30km away on the coast.
City centre full of hustle and bustle. Then a relaxing week by the coast. Great holiday

Italy, Italy and more Italy 🇮🇹
