Mowbray - You're a WEASEL

Mowbray said nothing wrong. The only thing you could maybe pick him up on, if you're being pernickety, is the fact he didn't wish Fry well in his recovery.

Crazy this thread. Bloke captains the club to back to back promotions during its darkest hours and comes back to manage the club after some difficult Strachan years and made us competitive. He loves the club and still lives in the town, but because he didn't throw his own player under the bus on live TV and didn't wish Fry well (I'd imagine he did this face to face) he is now sub human scum. If we read another clubs fans reacting like this we'd rightly mock them. Get over it, we've another game on Wednesday

Well said.

Mowbray could have probably worded it differently eh

Post of the week already 👍 further up I posted the thread title is sacrilegious

I guess to some, Mowbray being a legend, and this God like fervour in which they hold him, makes them blind to anything he does wrong. To read today that he is still defending this lad makes me sick.

Not a legend in my eyes anymore and this is my last word on the subject.
Likewise some on here have the same God like fervour for Warnock and makes them blind to anything he does wrong. Like having a go at the Blackburn player at full time. That was wrong but these things happen. It's a heated game sometimes. I would have understood Neil's action had happened at half time as the incident was after 14 minutes and still fresh in his mind but not at 90 minutes.

My main annoyance is directed at the incompetence of the officials who must have saw the incident and it's outcome.

Who has called Mowbray sub human scum? If anyone has then they are out of order. If anyone did why do you appear to imply others do too? What the guy did as a player and what he did as a manager are not relevant to his post match interview where he was incredibly disrespectful to Warnock and the club he holds so ‘dearly’. He could have dealt with it professionally. Nobody as far as I can see expected him to throw Branthwaite under a bus.

His comments about the player in the Liverpool Echo were not spur of the moment they were deliberately chosen words to paint Branthwaite as a harmless kid who wouldn’t and couldn’t hurt a fly whilst making Warnock out to be an ogre. All deliberate deflection bollax to get the press looking elsewhere, he knows the EFL will be looking at things. If he is so slight and timid, why would a hard nut centre half of Mowbrays standing as a player and vast experience as a manager pick him in the first place if he was as described? More mealy-mouthed words from him.

He isn’t the honest northern lad from Saltburn that tells it as it is in my eyes any longer. He has since compounded issues and thrown yet more petrol on the fire with those quotes today. Totally unprofessional. I acknowledge he needs to look after Blackburns interests and his players too. He could have done both whilst acknowledging the incident, its seriousness and they perhaps got away with one, and a line would have been drawn. This myth that ‘he loves‘ the club is farcical. He might support the team from afar maybe, but love..... pathetic to suggest it. His halo has slipped for me anyway.

He only lives in Nunthorpe. Go and knock on his door and tell him your feelings face to face. I'm sure he'd be accommodating

agreed, he is one of those managers that his fans love and the opposition hate and there is a reason for that. Deep down both he and Mogga are good people, and both let their emotions take over on this occasion...but only one of them was fundamentally dishonest here.

He wont to Warnock, although he should, as he was incredibly disrespectful in that interview, but it sounded to me like there is possibly bad blood between them anyway.

yeh I thought this too, I thought I was being overly sensetive but if you compare how mogga has spoke about the boro this season compared to last under woodgate and previous seasons, there is a clear change in his tone.

Warnock isn't particularly complementary about mogga either, so I think there is something which has gone on there.

I did hear a very little whisper last season under woodgate that mogga had been sounded out about a return and was open to it, but I don't know if there was any truth to it but like I say last week he pretty much said warnock wasn't doing a good job because boro should be in the prem. Where as he's normally much more diplematic than that.

Not sure that's what he meant by that. Warnock hasn't had any opportunity to get us in the Prem given he took over at the end of last season and we were on the verge of relegation and this season has months to go

you missed pointless. It's 'most stupid, childish and pointless post of the week'. Is he trying to say that until you tell Mogga to his face, then it didn't happen, he didn't let himself down?! 🤷‍♂️
Well, as Mowbray ‘loves‘ the club so much, he will no doubt read it for himself anyway. I would happily tell him my thoughts in a calm an adult manner though over a coffee and explain why I think he has tarnished his halo and explain man to man how he could have dealt with things on a much more professional basis without throwing anyone under a bus.

I sometimes wonder if anyone on the thread is or could be family or friend though. I was discussing this thread earlier with a Wednesdays fan I know. He saw the game and could not believe Mowbrays after match interview. He said he was surprised how restrained people on here have been in the main.
