Mowbray - You're a WEASEL

This photo proves absolutely nothing whatsoever unless you can get into Mowbray's mind in that second.
Am really uncomfortable about this thread - the villain is the referee not Mowbray. The player did not intend to do harm but it was an appalling challenge. The sort of thing Mido was once sent off for Boro. Unintentional but very dangerous. I cannot think of an excuse for the officials unless they were not watching the actual game. But Mowbray is not our enemy.
This thread is on a website named in honour of a true Boro all time great, Tony Mowbray and his manager Bruce Rioch. That was after our successful rebirth as a club that the fanzine drew its inspiration. It was all about respecting an achievement, exemplified by a captain who was all about respect. That achievement will rightly be remembered long after the reaction of some Boro fans.
Utter rubbish Rob.
That captain - as I posted a little earlier - WAS all about respect.
That Manager yesterday was all about contempt and dis-respect.
If you are uncomfortable with this thread then you need to give your head a shake.

All the more reason for a bit of sensitivity and humility from Mogga in his post-match interviews. By then he would have been able to view both the incident itself and the impact of the 'appalling' challenge.

If we all think it was an appalling challenge then there was nothing to stop Mogga from saying the same albeit with a number of caveats.

Let's all remember Dael is not only a Boro player he's a Boro lad as well, Berwick Hills born and bred.
For Mogga not even to inquire as to the state of the lad's health or wish him a speedy recovery just does not sit right with me at all.

Well said .
What I don't understand is the quote that " I didn't see it but I'm sure it was accidental "

Well this is a sad read from start to finish. I seriously think some people need to take a deep breath - and nobody needs to leave. Terrible challenge, yes, but Mowbray had had Warnock in his ear the whole match and was then asked to comment. Could he have given a better interview? Yes of course he could. Is he suddenly all the things people are accusing him of? Not a chance. He is a local fella who has shown great character and dignity throughout his career. We seriously need to get over ourselves here.

All Mowbray had to say post-match was that it was reckless but there was clearly no intent, and that he's a young lad who will learn from it. That way, he'd have protected the lad, whilst also showing respect for the club he supports.

He could have then said obviously we all hope Dael is okay but unfortuantely these things can happen in football. To say he didn't see the incident and then have a dig at Warnock regarding him "going on about it for 70 minutes" was poor.

He is and will always be a Boro legend but he didn't cover himself in glory yesterday and made an error of judgement.

Like it or loathe it this thread has seen some of the most emotional posts I can recall for a long time? Should it be taken down? Absolutely not.
All I will add is Mogga apparently isn’t universally liked by Blackburn fans. A lot believe he is one dimensional without a plan B or C. So I guess he has to tread carefully and not upset certain sections of the fan base.

Is this a valid reason ? I guess so ( although I disagree with his comments and stance.)

The biggest issue? The fact he has lost the respect of a lot of fans. For him, this has to be of concern.

I think that's also a fair point regarding not wanting to upset certain sections of their fanbase.

You only have to think back to Woodgates' disasterous interview after we were hammered at Leeds, which turned a lot of Boro fans against him. Maybe Mowbray was worried Blackburn fans would see it as him being too smpathetic towards his hometown club if he'd have admitted that it was reckless and deserving of a penalty at the very least.

He still should have done the right thing however.

If I’d of being him which is easier as I’ve had thinking time I’d of said

“ I saw it and will have a chat with him . He’s a young lad learning his trade but you just can’t do that . I’m confident he’ll listen to me and point out we couldn’t complain if he got a card . Hope the lad is ok and we’ll check in on him as soon as we can “ .

That would have done it I’m sure .

There’s an awful lot of over reaction going on here. I’ve read Mowbrays comments today on the post match incident which are reasonable and reflective.

Lets put this into context. Some of Warnock‘s behaviour over the years has been disgraceful. TLJ has already mentioned the utter disgrace of the Sheff Utd v West Brom game, and his attitude yesterday at the end of the game towards Branthwaite looked pretty distasteful - I’d be interested in hearing exactly what he said as I assume it wasn’t particularly pleasant. I bet the majority have you have called Warnock numerous names over the past 30 years given how he is, but now it’s fine because he’s our manager - he’s been the most obnoxious manager over that period.

From a respect and integrity perspective I know who I’d rather have managing my club out of the two of them, and it isn’t the man we have in charge at the moment.

I wouldn't want Tony Mowbray managing our Club again from any perspective.
