Moving back to Teesside

The problem with eaglescliffe and yarm as nice as they are getting worse year on year with traffic, with more and more new builds. If they put a whole load more homes on the golf course which has been muted for a while then its going to be gridlock on yarm road for hours
On the Orchard side the traffic can get really bad, absolutely no doubt about that. If you're on the Sunningdale side it's not bad at all really, I think the houses on the golf club have been cancelled for now at least.

Getting into/through Yarm at rush hours can be a nightmare too (so can Ingleby!)

ive lived in both and Ingleby isnt as bad for traffic, i would agree the orchard side at peak times by the school is ridiculous, its a pitty they cant make a proper cycle lane on yarm road, i always think its looks dangerous for cyclists.

I've lived in Middlesbrough, Stockton and now Redcar, but if I could live anywhere in Teesside, it would be Saltburn.

Don't think I'd move back to Middlesbrough even though all my friends and family are there.

Don’t move to Hemlington unless you like stones hurled at your car, nightly threats of violence and low flying helicopters.

Norton is alright, but we do have the vampires and the werewolves and the Brexit zombies and the evil ducks. I deal with most of that stuff myself most of the time, to keep the rest of the villagers safe. The other bumfaced lads help me if I need them to, and so does the dog.

I've been back for a few months now.

I did my house hunting on line and used my local knowledge to identify safe havens within Teesside.

I chose a house in Eston which is off the beaten track in a safe enclave. We can hear sirens all day, but they're from the nearest main roads.

The house I bought would cost 3 times what I paid down south.

I haven't lived in Teesside since the 1970s, so my opinion is of no value whatsoever, but as a very happy resident of Whitley Bay I'd imagine Saltburn is an excellent shout.

Preferred it before it became trendy; when the Top House was as exciting as it got…

it has its critics does Ingleby.

Idiots and statistics. "The highest rise in crime"

2019 two crimes were reported, 2020 four crimes were reported = CRIME HAS DOUBLED

2019 fifty crimes were reported, 2020 sixty crimes were report = CRIME RATE COMING UNDER CONTROL?

Lived in Ingleby for 4 years, it's hard to define it as a place because it has everything from terraces to practically mansions and everything inbetween. It has anti social behaviour but far less than other places. Property values have remained steady in the bad times and rocketed in the good times and everything is on your doorstep - easy routes to the main roads for commuting, several pubs, quick into the countryside for bike rides, walking routes, supermarket and petrol station, family events at the pub and shops etc

Girlfriend was against the idea as she had heard the rep from gazette articles and the usual comments people who don't go to Ingleby make around it being soulless or all the houses looking the same which they don't, or about lease car on the drive hut fridge is empty which is just baseless green eyed monster rubbish from idiots.

Acklam Hall can suffer badly with through traffic. Especially Hall Drive when the kids football is playing .
Marton again suffers “the Marton crawl” every day at peak times .

I’ve lived in both Acklam and Marton and prefer Marton purely for proximity to pubs and shops.
Crime is about the same in both areas, especially early morning garden moochers and chance thieves trying car doors .

Can I put forward Berwick Hills, no finer place to live on Teesside. But a warning, proper people live here!!
