More political threads than Boro related

I try to see both sides and to save my insults for the politicians themselves, not other posters. I like Erimus. I like Smalltown too. Smalltown is passionate about what he believes in but he gets a bit carried away sometimes. We're all mates here at the end of the day. There's nothing wrong with having different opinions. We've had this debate a million times on here. Say what you think. Don't be a d*ck. It's really that simple to me unless people are saying racist or homophobic things or spouting other really hateful stuff.
 
I was going to suggest selling Djed Spence to the government.
I just think he would be the perfect fit.
He is very popular with some (in Nottingham)
People who have worked with him for a while have learned not to like him at all.
He has convinced everyone he is premiership quality (well I'm not telling)
And he plays on the right.
Perfect replacement for Boris.
Yours for 15 million plus extras.
But in light of this thread I withdraw my suggestion.
 
After the past few years, if you stil think 'Boris' and his Eton mates are ok and you'll vote for them next time (Good Old Boris)... you're an idiot.
 
This thread was posted straight after someone decided to insult me on an Australian Boro facebook forum. Apparently that was totally fine to do because "fmttm has turned into a political tool."

I was posting about the fanzine at the time.
It makes me wonder if the insulting facebook attack and this thread are related.

Where's the hatred on here? People sometimes can get a bit snippy with each other but that's life. As for 'political tool', that's nonsense. Fmttm has always been left leaning, but then so has the town.

The country generally is in a pretty angry state right now (and who could be surprised at that?) and perhaps a little of that leaks onto here, I don't know.

For myself, I suspect that those among us who lean to the right are feeling a little bit touchy right now because their choice of government is widely despised for its massive duplicity, and for royally ****ing up the country.

I can assure you that they are absolutely not. You have my details, my name, check to see if I use Facebook or an Australian Boro fan page and you'll see absolutely no connection at all. You'll so see how long I've been a member and that I used to be very active.

I'm out of here anyway, that has sealed it for me. Thought I'd give this once great board a try.

Not being funny, but moaning about political threads instead of just ignoring them, followed by leaving the forum altogether and announcing it ……. That’s a real top quality flounce.

Seriously though, life is far too short to get worked up about threads that you do not have to open and topics that you do not have to engage in, on an internet chat forum.
I hope that you can find some peace now you have made the decision to leave.

Also @Manhead, I genuinely hope you stick around and find a way to scroll past the politics threads and open the ones more suited to you, because your contributions are just as valued as the next persons. And your profile pic always makes me smile.

Dont rise to it mate, i dont see anything he posts but if he refers to me as scum, he also voted for the very same government

I would never sink so low to call anyone such a name on here, probably because im better than that

He didn't say that about you, specifically Erimus but let's just leave this thread as it is. I probably overreacted because I like you both and I've seen you both fighting on here many times and I don't like seeing that. I was just trying to say that calling all Tories scum is a bit OTT and a bit vague too. Are we just talking about Tory politicians or all of the people who vote for them too? Because if it's the latter, then that really isn't on. People vote the way that they vote for all kinds of reasons. I'm no fan of the Tories but as I said to you before I'd have to disown some of my own family if I was going to decide that all Tory voters were scum.

To be fair. I only think that the current cabinet and it's cruel, autocratic and corrupt ways are scum. By extension, anyone who defends this current version of the Tory party is enabling that.

So given the amount of anger on here I reckon we'll all be Tory supporters in a few years anyway. 😬
