More children of the 90s needed on this board

I was 14 turning 15 at the start of the 90s and there is not one single decade that I have enjoyed more (I suppose most people might say that for their decade that saw them leave school turn 18 and 21).
The 90s were a special time, at the start of it the Tories stabbed Thatcher in the back and it seemed like an upward curve from then onwards. Amazing music, following the Boro through possibly the best 3 or 4 years of their history and even England became quite good at football for a part of it. I listen to the quickly Kevin Podcast, which is all about 90s football and question they often end with is, if you had button that if you pressed you could go back to January 1st 1990 and do it all again, would you? I would answer yes in a heartbeat!!!

New Labour and Tony Blair in 97 genuinely felt like a new dawn. I remember my Uncle stayed up all night watching the election coverage. He couldn't believe after 17 years of Tory rule they were finally being kicked out.

Despite what many remember; New Labour did many good things and had so many really quality politicians. Compare Blair, Brown, Straw, Mowlem, Blunket with those around today. It's depressing really.

Absolutely agree. There's something reductive about the current Tory party. Everything is reduced down.

Correct. I've never seen such a shocking generation in politics in my lifetime. I must say that's right across the political spectrum too. It's almost as if all a person must do is study PPE at Oxford or Cambridge and there you go. From 2010 onwards it's been poor in the main.

Any era is good when you are 18. That said the explosion of music and culture in the 60s will take some beating. Not my era. I was 18 in the 70s.
Been listening to a lot of 60s music. Not all your usual chart stuff but mixture. Quite s bit of Psych. Some brilliant music.
