Moore on way to Cardiff for a medical

Not directly player name related but I recall someone on the old board describing a player as a pre-madonna which tickled me.

The thing with your big strong back to goal centre forwards is if they aren't mobile and can also play facing goal ala, drogba, you really need to play them with a strike partner or at the very least have midfielders who stick close to them. Negredo and hughil both suffered from this. A hughil who is flicking the ball on would be a lot better than one trying to control the ball and wait a half hour for his team mates to amble forward.
I'm hoping he may go two up top and play 5 at the back with wingbacks and two up top, as I think this suits our current players far better.

This is why I think Negredo would have benefited from having Ramirez playing off him. I know Karanka tried it at the start of the season and we didn't get off to the best of starts but I think that was also down to a lack of pace down the sides. We needed either Traore or Adomah out wide. I remember the opening game against Stoke, we had Adomah and Downing out wide, and Ramirez playing as a no10 in behind Negredo and I thought 1st half in particular we looked a real threat going forward, I was excited by what I saw. He sold Adomah of course but for me Traore was the obvious replacement in that position, not Stuani.

Ramirez was shifted out wide and did have a decent spell of form but we then had 3 midfieleders and they weren't getting forward to support Negredo effectively enough.

Hugill is far from the answer. Not for me.

Unbelievable, of all the players all over the world and our 'full time' scouting team the best we can come up with on here is to go back to Hugill from Dickens who was poor when he was here last time. I'm not having that the formation didn't suit etc which it probably didn't but the formation doesn't mean he looks crap most of the time, could hardly control or pass the football and fell to the floor everytime the wind blew - no thanks.

Lets hope our scouting dept in its full time glory has a better option or we are truly fked

Hugill was a 15 goal championship striker last season if he was available for £2m and would play for £20k a week I would sign him up, rather than chase players rejected by mid table Division 1 teams who scored less goals in the division below Hugill.

Wholeheartedly agree. Way better than any striker we have been linked with so far. Also the type Warnock would want

kei Kamara..... Jesus😂
Completely forgot about him. How many duff forwards have we bought?

How about getting Juke back? 31 and 2 great seasons in a cack side. A full on Warnock type No9. Not sure what AK would make of him.

Rather gamble on some scandinavian journeyman like a forjtoft or pukki type. Much cheaper and they are usually tall and strong. Just the type warnock likes

Jan Fjortoft was not cheap - £1.3m in 1995 about £10m in todays money - record signing for us at the time. He was seen as probably the best striker in the Championship in 1995, certainly one of the best.

He did but you couldn’t argue at the time. He went on to Burnley and 32 appearances without a goal. It was only when he went back to the West Midlands that he found his scoring touch. Maybe he is just a player for the midlands

Lol the gazette headlines. Moore says why Cardiff was the move it was the fans lol

When you get to a certain age you see through this conplete BS.

To the Gazette reporters ffs get a grip and report on something worthwhile. He went for money end of Cardiff fans ffs iv heard it all. I could understand newcastle fans, leeds or Sunderland etc cardiff??? F off What a bell E
