Moore on way to Cardiff for a medical

I'm disappointed. Scoring records for strikers are crucial obviously but I think NW saw the potentially overall contribution to the team as being equally important.

I'm not that bothered with this one. I think he would have been our main striker as Warnock likes a big man.

I fully expect us to sign a big target man striker, someone in the Glenn Murray mould, and Britt to leave.

Cardiff will be his destination for one reason, money.

He will naturally say it was down to ambition and how much he loves playing for Wales. Were that true he would have said yes before now Imho. Our interest probably helped him get more dosh from Cardiff. I am not particularly disappointed, plenty more spuds in the field

He probably sees himself having more chance of playing for Wales if he goes to Cardiff and I didn’t like what I was hearing and reading about clubs being put off by wage demands. I would like to think we have learned our lesson when it comes to giving pretty average players more than they deserve

The Northern Echo said we like a few other clubs had agreed £1.8m fee with Wigan. Other clubs dropped out because the player wanted too much in wages etc and it was left to us and Cardiff.

What concerns me is his goal scoring record its not 1 in 3 which is what you are looking for from someone at their peak who is a centre forward. He scored 10 goals last season our current forwards did better than that. At 28 he's not going to get better. However I trust our management team and scouts that they have seen something. Its good that we have shown some ambition and resources even if he does not come. There will be quite a few fish in the sea this Summer.

He's different to what we have. He gives you the Rudy option but may give you goals😏.

I would have been happy if we signed him. That said I'm not overly bothered depending on wages and no doubt 4 year contract. I wouldnt want to he stuck with a highly paid dud again.

He scored 10 last season in a winning and pretty free scoring side. 4 of them came in the last 5. So that's 6 goals going into the last 5 games. Hardly prolific by any stretch.

He very much suits the Warnock and Cardiff style (although Harris says they've changed).

I imagine we will end up with the free lad from Blackpool 😂

I think he'd have been a pretty decent signing but I also read he was asking 40k a week at the start of negotiations..

I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Hugill back. On loan if possible. He can be a handful and I reckon he would jump at the chance to work with someone like Warnock, also, Warnock gets bodies around his striker and Hugill proved at QPR he is more than capable. Would be a better signing than Moore anyway.

I'm disappointed. I like this bloke and think he would've been the perfect fit as he holds the ball up well and brings others into play. However, no point crying and pretty sure Warnock will unearth a gem somewhere else.

Good news is it looks like we have "some" money to spend. No players sold yet and willing to spend £2m on a striker while still needing at least 4 more players in (probably more) suggests were not quite as skint as some claim.

I don't think we'll be spending silly money of course, but now a lot of big earners are off the books I think we might have a bit more than some think.

Agreed! He was fighting a losing battle under Pulis but I think he could be a totally different player under Warnock.
