MISSION TO BURNLEY

Really wish our club would follow the likes of Burnley, Sunderland and Wrexham in making a series about our club.

Programmes like this are fantastic in showcasing the club and encouraging new supporters more than our marketing department could ever do.

We have a tremendous training ground, stadium and a passionate fans and it feels like we are missing a trick in not sharing this with the rest of the world.

Even though Sunderland till I die was filmed during an unsuccessful period for the club it still showed to millions of viewers how much the football club means to the area.

I liked Premier Passions in the 90s, the one where Reid was screaming at them in the dressing room etc.

Didn’t mind the Spurs one when Mourinho was there. Sunderland Til I Die felt heavily sanitised to me even if it was a decent watch.

Now there are hundreds of these things. They bore the pants off me as they are merely promotional videos for clubs I don’t support, and it’s pretty clear all the interesting stuff has been edited out.

I do understand what you’re saying about how it can be used to market the club but I find it all quite crass tbh. I’m sick of hearing about Wrexham and I have no plans to ever watch their series. Just my personal opinion, but I don’t think this stuff especially enhances the sport. Wrexham are simply being exploited, I’m sure their fans don’t mind if it brings about quick success though.

We could have endless episodes of Fisher and Ameobi in rehab😂.

Jokes aside we may actually find out what happened with Ameobi. He left the club and I've still not heard anything about him. No retirement or news of him looking for new club etc. It's like he no longer exists.

Boro agreed to make a fly on the wall documentary, but the hierarchy felt the resultant footage was too close to reality, so they pulled the plug.

The Burnley one is different though as it’s a sky made show unlike the others in the on demand platforms so it shows why sky were so keen to show them all the time and why they talked them up from day one.

They were skys team

Did he ever exist?

Actually I do remember that little goal he scored v Cardiff I think.

Have little interest in watching this series. Surprised they thought many would to be honest outside Burnley no matter how well made it was.
