Middle-class trappings

I've had a good think and I've struggled to identify a single middle-class possession. Well, apart from my well-spoken mannerisms! I ooze it. Campachoochoo.

My Celestron EdgeHD 8 AVX Telescope is definitely middleclass. It's one of those hobbies where you think yeah that's fairly expensive for a metal tube, a couple of mirrors, a tripod and a couple of motors.....then you start to buy all the accessories, like storage bags, eye pieces, filters, finder scopes, cameras, GPS, barlows, reducers, dew shields etc. etc. and your bank account winces. Then you start dreaming of a bigger scope and a bigger mount. Oh and at least half the time you can't use the bloody thing because the skies are cloudy.

peeping toms come from any class

I would disagree with that definition. Where is it from? That would suggest they are hardly any middle class people
Do you believe the definition that suggests the simple purchase of a 'Nutribullet' food blender makes you middle class?

It's not what you own , it's what you do with it. For example, if you own a low/zero emissions car you are probably middle class. But if you clean it regularly you are not.
Then I am not! I can't stand a dirty car. The missus car is used by her as a rubbish dump. Mine has to be spotless. I even wanted to get it ceramic coated and ppfed but it's too expensive for me

No? That's a bit of a specific and extreme leap from your view. But no, no I don't
It has to be specific and extreme to allow you to grasp the concept. Broaden the spectrum and include many other material goods and you still get the same outcome.

unless I'm looking through the window of someone 4 miles away, I'm going to struggle to see anything but an inch of **** cheek. It is a problem though, I hear of people accused of looking through peoples windows in the dead of the night, even though it would be utterly pointless.

The truth is that there are hardly any middle class people, more importantly there are much more working class people than you have been led to believe.

No need, not if you're the proud owner of one of these beauties - absolute game changer for us.

That gagdet means your working social class if you don't know how to or cant be bothered to peel an avacado (y)

In the kitchen a nutribullet i would have said doesnt count but a canteen of cutlery, pasta maker machine, garlic press, pestle and mortar, kitchen-aid food mixer or an aga does.

Quite a 'British' definition there newy.

In other countries, the definition of middle class tends to be the 'top 10%' of wealth.

Here, that means above £176,000 of 'wealth' including house equity, cash, shares, bonds and investment trusts.
