McNair - Right Back

I'm too lazy to read all this thread but every time I watch McNair play he strikes me as good player. Good defensively, good on the ball, good attitude. Could definitely play right back for us.
I think sometimes we forget we're a second division club, we're not going to get Maldini and Baresi types playing for us who never make mistakes. Too much Football Manager and FIFA for some people.

Stoke are signing Junior Tchamadeu from Colcester for £1 million.19 year old RB, played nearly every game for them in L2 last season, scored a few goals.

I have a rule that any teenager playing regularly at any part of the league ladder is a big prospect

I share the same rule.

I've been looking out for Ronnie Edwards (Peterborough) for years - he's now 20 - but played consistently in the championship two years ago, aged 17/18, and almost every game in league one last season.
I mentioned him as a replacement if we lost Fry last summer (https://fmttmboro.com/index.php?threads/buy-gyokeres-for-any-price.35015/page-6#post-813307)

Crewe Alexandria have two defenders, Zac Williams and Connor O'Riordan - both 19, both made debuts at 17, played in league one (at 17/18) before getting relegated - started 20~ games in league two last season.

Charlton have a 19 year old striker, Miles Leaburn - averages a league goal every 150 minutes, he scored 12 last season.

I'll have to scope these lads out, I know Edwards, but not the other three. 12 goals as a 18-19 year old in League One is very promising.

Miles Leaburn looks a real player (y)

Over the course of a season I'd back McNair ahead if Smith, without hesitation.

He's quicker, better in the air and is more comfortable on posession.

The issue with McNair isn't his ability it's his salary and the fact he's into his final year.

If he was on a more affordable package and a longer contract it would be a whole different situation.

I'd give McNair and Agyemang a half each tomorrow. I can understand why fans are reluctant about the idea of him starting vs Millwall, given his lack of experience, but he's the only natural RB we have fit at present, and may end up surprising us.

Even though McNair had played at RB plenty of times for Northern Ireland?

When he played RB last time he was OK going forward with a decent delivery but defensively he was shocking, always caught on the ball, out of position, clumsy mistakes etc.

No thanks
He is terrible at RB, shocking today and the goal came from his stupid lunge missing the tackle

Square peg in a round hole - terrible

McNair just isn't good enough anymore. Not at CB. Not at RB. Not at CM. If we can vet £5mil like reported then I'll drive him there myself, even if it's to Italy.

He was garbage today. Even my lass who knows F all about football pointed at him at one point and said, "who is he, he should not be playing, he keeps passing to them, he doesn't know what he doing"
