Mcgree surely the question has to asked now

Certainly McGree. Reminded me of the PL season when Karanka used to bring defenders on ahead of Jordan Rhodes even when we were losing....

As much as I hope Silvera can come good, his finishing has been pretty woeful and he's not who I'd turn to first to get us a goal.
Silvera needs to realise that our football is played with a crossbar and does not have a goal either side of the main posts where you still score something if you miss.
It's not Aussie Rules Sammy.

If there has been a bust up with a coach / tantrum about a move / whatever..

The management team needs to sh#t, or get off the pot.

If you want to iron fist rule , or think he's not gonna perform to force a move.. then dropped from the squad for a few weeks, and see how hard he trains.
Popping him on the bench is neither nowt nor something discipline wise.

If it's not this, and management actually actually think either Rodgers or Silvera are better options in a 4 2 3 1 for the left in the 3 or the 10, then I'd suggest Mcgree has every right to be peeved.

He was an integral part of last seasons success, and neither of those are experienced professional who've commanded a fee beyond his worth.
I agree, but our options are so limited they might be better trying to mend fences. Tricky one, because ill-discipline/disrespect can spread. Most of his colleagues will have been sympathetic to his point of view if a bid had come in, but at the same time it's low-key a vote against themselves to so advertise his desperation to go.
It's such a shame that all last season's feelgood.factor seems to have evaporated so quickly. Carrick mouths platitudes about the squad's togetherness, but the 'McGree affair', if that's what it is, doesn't bode well. Riley has his faults but he's a bit of a talisman for the fans because he plays with bravery and wears his heart on his sleeve. I hope he gets reintegrated soon; we can't afford to have good, proven players on the bench.

I hate rumours like this. They're just far too easy to make up. McGree gets dropped, some bell end sees it as a chance to look like they're ITK, makes up a rumour that fits the known facts and it spreads and gains traction because it's plausible.

It might of course have some truth to it. It could also be complete BS.

It's not like he's been left out of the squad completely or not getting brought on.

I also find it hard to believe Carrick would massively fall out with anyone.
Agreed, it could be BS, and agree about Carrick also. Maybe that's a weakness of Carrick though. If that was Fergie, say, he'd say "You signed a good contract, so be a man and suck it up. Play well, and earn yourself a new contract with an automatic bid clause. Or flounder in the reserves for two years."
He wouldn't send mixed messages by putting him on the bench.
I thought he'd be back in for good after his game-changing effect at Bolton, but when he wasn't I did start to smell a rat. If he's not in tonight it's hard to understand for sure...

I thought he was rubbish tonight tbh, but there were other players who needed to come off ahead of him, well, one specifically.

Poor first half. Started to get into the game and get his passing going, coincidentally exactly when we were on top (he gets us going , when he plays well we do).

Take him off and ta da, we lose control.

Silvera was worse, but only just, McGree tackled himself several times tonight!!
We had so many average players on show tonight.

Had the impetus and control and looked like getting a second. We all know he knits it all together.

Take him off and we instantly lose that impetus and any form of control. Greenwood anonymous and invisible Man silvera still on.

Mental
One of the worst managerial decisions ive seen supporting Boro over 45 years. We were starting to impose ourselves and were building up momentum and confidence, Mcgree was pivotal in that, then he subs him off and everything just fizzled out. Absolutely baffling
