As just posted above, it may depend on the condition of Tommy Smith. But he’ll have had more offers than just us.
As I say that’s my view I guess we’ll see in the summer

Excellent analysis IMO!Carrick was absolutley correct. The performance yesterday was his fault.
The style of play, probably isn't the problem. When to execute that style was. Trying to beat argyll's press is fine, however, we were often outnumbered or players too closely marked. The players had to go long then and didn't. That's on Carrick. Presumably they are his instructions.
When it wasn't working and somewhere between 0-1 and 0-2 he should have changed things. Gone with 3 cb's maybe when the opposition where still leaving space in behind. Once we went 2 behind Plymouth could sit back and make it difficult for us to break them down. Without a recognized striker it was always going to be very difficult for us to score after conceding the second because the way we play needs space to exploit and that disappears when you go 2 down.
Almost completely Carricks fault. He won't leave in the summer because right now he is a big gamble for any team.
We have had a lot of injuries. Without a doubt Jones, Hackney and howson are massive misses. Howson and Hackney are good in the press and jones gives you an outlet. However the manager has to get the best out of the players he had available and there is a pattern emerging with our current setup at home. It isn't working and Carrick watch it happen from the touchline and did nothing.
We joked looking around at the empty seats that Carrick prob left as well as you say hardly saw him yesterday.Did anyone else notice that MC spent very little time in the technical area during the game, just seemed odd looking at how we were, er, playing. 'you're on yer own fellas' crack on.
He might have had other options, but I bet Hurworth is a nicer commute for him.But he’ll have had more offers than just us.

New quality "Tool Kit" needed for next season.Looked shocked, embarrassed and a tad lost . Took the blame to deflect from players . Seems they performed the system as he told them and he got it wrong. Missing key players and no striker ... has he been hung out to dry? Mc Gree is not the same dynamic player pre injury and the full backs are not up to it Ayling saunted and jogged through the game ... Love MC but when the canoe hits the rapids thats when you earn your crust ... anyone can paddle it in smooth waters. Lacking a leader on the pitch who can create an inpulse and whip up a storm ... it was a real shocking watch on TV ... Seasons dead. Lets see what MCs next move is with the squad he has
We have the players to do it…but they’re all injured. He won’t get far unless he learns to become more flexible with his tactics, playing out from the back is lunacy unless you have the players to do it, we have given so many goals away this season from not being able to execute it properly. The less said about this false 9 b***ks were currently playing the better. Historically apart from Man City and Barcelona and to a lesser extent Arsenal it doesn’t work
Agreed that’s why he has to change it!We have the players to do it…but they’re all injured.

Different type of game though. Expected to break a team down or play on the break. Different skills neededWhile I agree to an extent, we didn't pick up any additional injuries from the Leicester win to the spineless capitulation at home to Plymouth. The setup, shape, tactics and tempo were well off, and it was apparent from a couple of minutes in that we looked horrendous and were getting nothing from the game.
He did nothing till about 57 minutes, and bizarrely his answer was to take McGree off.
None of that had anything to do with injuries, that's just rank bad management for me.
It's not a one off, he's not learning.

I thought Glover’s positioning for their second was questionableI understand why he's shouldering the blame. Deflecting criticism away from his players. Yet it's getting to a point where certain players need dropping or calling out.
He can't take the blame or legislate for O'Brien and Glover combining for the first goal yesterday. That or the countless ridiculous individual mistakes we've made in the last month or so. Just finding even more ridiculous ways to concede goals.
It's not on him that CMs keep losing possession in dangerous areas. Although picking a GK who's now made 3 mistakes in almost as many games has to be questioned. Has he just forgot that Dieng was arguably our best player prior to injury? Definitely our best signing (along with Rav).
With regards to playing out from the back, people say ‘it’s good when it works… gets you in trouble when it doesn’t’ but it hardly works for us and we’re caught out more often than not, yet we keep persisting with itWe seem to be caught by the press far more with glover in goal. His distribution is slow, and ponderous giving the opposition opportunity to set
