Mattress disposal

Hi Fmttmers.
I'm trying to get rid of a mattress and bed before moving house but didn't realise what a drama it would be.

You have to book a slot for Haverton Hill, but then got rejected due to my TS8 postcode saying it's not within the council's boundary!
Then tried registering for Stokesley tip and got the same thing as we are not in North Yorkshire.

Does anyone have any suggestions, without having to pay for a private waste removal.

Stokesley is in Hambleton no? If so if you can fold the mattress up in the back of the car you should be able to rock up without registering.

I'm registered at Haverton Hill and I have a TS8 postcode.

Very strange...

Who do you pay your council tax to? They're taking your money and are obligated to provide the waste services you've already paid for.

The people on the gate at Haverton Hill always ask if you’re Stockton or Middlesbrough. I assumed it meant people from both areas are allowed to use the facility.

If it’s in decent condition and still has the fire labels on give British Heart Foundation a ring, they’re crying out for beds and will come collect.

Sorted now!
The text booking service is naff and rejects the application based on the postcode of TS8.

But, managed to book on the Middlesbrough Gov website so got a slot for Sunday.

Last resort was dump it in the Tees outside the Riverside stadium :)

They are, but also presume it's as they have different booking systems. The online system is great tbh used to hate going and queueing but it's so quick now.

I took one to Redcar and Cleveland - Dunsdale tip, in the car. Wrapped it up in plastic sheeting discarded from a furniture store, but it came from a TS18 address.

Just do what some scruffy cnuts done on Teesside Industrial Estate this week. In the middle of the night drive your van onto the grass beside the road, churning up the earth in the process, and deposit your pi$$ stained double mattress and assorted cushions onto the ground.

Voila.

Drive to darlo, if it fits in your car rollled up you don’t need to book in. ( only book for van)
