Matt Clarke

I don’t mean to gloat but there was a few on here hammering me last season for saying how good he is. And how important he is. And how bald he is.

I think I got this one right lads. He gives absolutely everything and is everything I want in my centre back. Been nothing short of sensational since his return from that awful injury.

He played alongside 2 lads tonight who aren’t natural centre backs and absolutely ***ed it.

Baldini.
The only part you got right was how bald 👩‍🦲 he is. 🤣🤣🤣

Oh dear. If you still think he’s ***** you really need to try another sport cos football isn’t for you
I’m sat in France and have just read out your opening post to the wife stating I think this is a dig at me. 🤣🤣🤣

It sounds like he played well again 👍. I’m not converted though. 😜

Nothing worse than someone who can’t admit there wrong even when it’s staring them in their face.

Horrible trait

Dijksteel rightly got MOTM last night but Clarke was a very close second.

He's a superb defender. As has been said, if he had pace he wouldn't be playing in the Championship.

Every player stepped up last night. 5 sub change made no difference and scoring within minutes was priceless .🤣
Can't wait for saturday, wish I'd been last night.

Clarke is immense. He was always going to be.

I remember when he was getting slated on here by some, I kept pointing out that you don't win so many POTY awards at previous clubs if you aren't any good.

Him and VDB will be a great pairing this season if we can keep them both fit.

Lots of posts on here, so may have already been mentioned, but a moment of recognition for some of Clarkes passing last night! 👏

I think (might be wrong) some of his long range passes kicked off moves that created at least 3 clear cut chances.

He truly is a thing of beauty.

It is a terrible trait sticking stubbornly to a view just because you can't be seen to be wrong.
Gloating endlessly is an annoying one too.

I've been critical of Engel - and he has played well enough to shut me up this season.
I've not seen what others see in Clarke and said I'd have Fry as first choice CB. He was indeed majestic last night and deserves all the praise and recognition he is getting.
I'm not a fan of Barlaser, but he played very well last night too and deserves some unqualified praise.

I've always liked Dijksteel and loved Coburn. I was delighted to see them both so outstanding last night. I really hope both stay.

Morris is really encouraging, he has made quite the start. He must have pinched himself last night when looking at our fans.

The team last night looked a very very good one. Fit, talented, fluent, applied, together.

I will remember last night for a very, very long time.
I've been at Elland Rd the last 3 times we've won (2011 Emnes, 2004, and 2003 when Leeds went down). I was living down south in 96 when Kav's penalty won us the midweek match in the next previous win there and its all the way back to Hickton's brace in 76 for our previous success.
I've been when we've beaten them 3-0 in 2003, but tonight feels the most special.
We look on the up and they looked the exact opposite.

It was a fabulous night. Hats off to everyone.

Watch the game back when you get chance. Man mountain.
I’ve just watched the highlights and the commentator was praising Clarke throughout. The thing I hate about him is how he goes down on one knee to tackle. He did this last night and Leeds nearly scored from it. You were always taught not to go to ground when you tackle.

Credit where credit is due, some of the balls he played to find a player in space were excellent.

Love the lad.
Big Nobby is committed, brave and whole-hearted, despite the fact that he occasionally puts the shıts up me when he has the ball at his feet around the box 😉😅

The lad's undroppable.

Since coming back from a potentially career ending injury, he's been absolutely superb.

A great signing, I'm hoping we offer him a new contract rather than just taking up the option for a year.

Hope he has a great day on Saturday back at Derby. Wonder what reception he'll get, he was awarded their player of the season when he was on loan.
