Matt Clarke

He is excellent at this level. The type of consistent defender we hoped Fry would mature into.

Very harshly treated by some fans (you know who you are) who judged him based on a couple of games where he was clearly seriously injured.
 
Always said he's a brilliant defender. I could understand why people were frustrated during his injury but you don't win so many POTS awards by luck. He'll be among our contenders come May I'm certain of it

Yeah, think it was definitely a bit of the old "I've judged him already based on 3 games, no chance I'm changing my mind now".

Agree with Diego and others, I think it's been clear for a long time now what a good defender he is, exactly what we've been missing under Carrick.
 
He’s got stronger and stronger since coming back from injury last year. Always fear there is another long lay off around the corner with his injury record.

Our best CB on form. If he is fit all season that would be huge for us.
 
Rumour is Chuck Norris wanted to sign for us... but Matt Clarke arm wrestled him for the pen.

to be fair to the lad he has been immense since getting into the team...wherever you want him or need him... he is there. Lost count of how many blocks he made last night
