Mason Mount

If you play for a top 4-6 club and you are English you are near enough guaranteed an international cap regardless of current form. If there are a couple of places left because of injuries then they are scrapped over.
Absolutely 100% spot on - could not agree more

Mount, James, Abraham, Greenwood, Maitland-Niles, Saka, Winks - wouldn't be anywhere near the England squad if they weren't at a "big" club. It'll be the Liverpool kids that Sky vvank over that'll be in next

Why do you try to make out that if he was playing at a lesser club he's be overlooked when Southgate picks players like Pope, Philips, Mings, Cook, Wilson, Rice, Ward-Prowse, Coady, Ings, etc?
Who starts out of those players you've picked? Regularly for England?

Is Southgate going to pick Wilson ahead of Kane even if Kane was in poor form at the time? No.

Plus where exactly does Mount play? Because every time I've seen him play he's playing basically anywhere.

Well Mings and Rice do. Philips has featured in 4 of the 7 games England played since his debut in September. Every one of them plays for a club that is not considered a top 4-6 one and yet get called up, so it makes no sense to claim that Mount wouldn't be an England international if he were at Palace.

I can only assume the reason why you've purposefully missed the point is because everything you've posted in this thread is utter nonsense. Your hated of Mount is personal. Your point about Lingard didn't work considering he doesn't play for England. Your claim of bias is undermined the moment we look at the players Southgate picks that aren't of top 4-6 clubs, and the ones that do play for these clubs but aren't getting picked.

So Kane starts regardless yeah?

😂

Are you Mason's dad?

Come on, of course there is an obvious bias. It's been around for the last 20 years at least.

If you play for a top 4-6 club and you are English you are near enough guaranteed an international cap regardless of current form. If there are a couple of places left because of injuries then they are scrapped over.

When was the last time an Englishman playing in the Championship was selected for international duty for example?

Look at the amount of times Jessie Lingaard has been picked for England, can't be because of his talent because he's a dreadful footballer but because he wears a Man Utd shirt.

If Jack Grealish played for someone like a Man Utd or an Arsenal he'd have far more England call ups by now than he does.
The worst case of this bias must be Tom Cleverley who somehow managed to convince Roy Hodgson to give him 13 English caps.

Yea best player again. No surprise though to anyone who’s watched Chelsea this season.

Opening poster needs to start watching more football before making ridiculous statements!

He’s been decent but no more than that. Watch plenty of footy - not fit to lace Grealish’s boots.

Don’t even see him as a similar player to Grealish to be fair. Grealish is more a wide forward these days who’s game is about creating and winning fouls and scoring goals and Mount more an energetic midfield type who covers the whole pitch and has a great passing and shooting range. Both terrific players.
