Bernie was the most bitter pundit ever, he slagged the club constantly when he had his nose firmly up Malcolm McDonald’s sphincter. Despite him being my hero for a number of years as a player I pity the person he has become.

I actually thought ali and bernie were the perfect partnership

I like Mark Drury he's obvs had a really hard act to follow....
I enjoy his humour and daft quips....I don't know what people expect, some sort of superhero commentator ? I think the general default on here is to moan....

That might be correct that he went in for the job but he never left the BBC when Century won the rights (when Ali left) and he went to national BBC around the same time, so entirely possible. I don't think Century would've given it to a non Boro guy regardless.
