Yes well done to Rashford, he has undoubtedly saved many thousands from unimaginable suffering over the next few months. Just a shame that it takes a footballer to be doing the work the government should be doing.

These past few months have shown him right up. Apparently to those in the know he's a bit of a 🐔off the camera.

Saw it pointed out that Labour were going to force a vote on it later today, but Johnson U-turning before that means it can't be painted as a Labour victory or suffer the awful optics of being seen to vote against feeding hungry children.

I'm sure they'd sooner a popular footballer took the credit (which he fully deserves, don't get me wrong) than the opposition.
 
Wonder how long it will take the Sun/Mail to put out a story about how much he has spent on cars/house etc
 
What a terrific action, his Mam must be so proud of him , it's coming to something when a Premiership footballer displays more sincerity, dignity and empathy than any member of this Cabinet. The Twitter response shows the venal culture alive and well within this despicable government.

Great work from Rashford. very good campaign. great to see a footballer be so altruistic and fighting for a cause.

Another shameful, shameful, display from our government though who initially argue AGAINST feeding children who struggled to have access to enough food.

Is there no low to which they won't sink?
 
Every year I see the honours list and I whinge for months about it. There is always an undeserving pop star, politician or footballer and they've done nothing with their lives and get a gong. In between they throw a lolly pop woman or some other community worker who have worked tirelessly for their community all their lives and get a mention.

If this kid doesn't get a knighthood, there is something wrong.

How proud must his mum be of him?

Couldn't agree more Norman, sometimes there are people who thoroughly deserve all the acclaim coming their way & someone so young is even more more impressive

CTC my wife cares, she works in the most deprived school in Cleveland, she cares every day in a way you could not comprehend.

Go **** yourself with your insults simply because she did not vote Labour, your generalisation on anyone with an opinion different to you does not make them a fucwit.

A Muslim girl we know works in the food bank every weekend she is a delight , in your view she is a no mark.
