Man City charged with multiple breaches of FFP

Slap on wrist. £20k fine incoming no doubt.

Then again, it wouldn't shock me if City appealed. And cleaned them out in court.

Premier League are a farce and absolutely spineless.

The whole Tevez/Mascherano saga with West Ham/Sheff Utd proved how pathetic the PL really are when it comes to this sort of stuff.

I don't see them undertaking a 4 year investigation of 10 years of breaches with the intent of a minor fine.

I expect Man City will have the world's best lawyers intent on fighting it though.

good they are getting to the bottom of things with FFP but didn't uefa try this with them and fail miserably? I'm sure they will have had to find something much more to stand a bigger chance of success.

I feel like they need review what loop holes clubs are using and put limits or out law them completely in counting as the figures used in FFP calcs, or make it simple everyone can spend the same amount of money each season and revenue is irrelevant (as long as the club remains in good financial standing of course)

but that would probably lead to clubs spitting out dummy saying they won't renew with premier league when the deal is up if they made the league a even spending limit between all clubs lol

Which relates to the supporter groups -

1. Plastics who have jumped on the bandwagon circa 2009. Tantrum when City are beaten.

to

2. The proper fans who stood by their team during the dismal 80s - 90s. Shrug and have a beer when City are beaten

I think there will be action here. This has taken years and will be cast iron I would expect. With the UEFA ban already in the wings I see trouble ahead.

Yesterday match was weird - team selection and tactics odd. I wonder if Pep will walk away now the fun times might be over.

Are we approaching the point where a flat rate transfer fee and salary cap would be a good idea?

I've heard the objection that it's an attempt to artificially create competition. However, I feel we have a lot of artificial restraints on competition as it is. These include

television rights
how much a Chinese casino website is prepared to pay you to advertise them.
how many tacky shirts you can flog to kids in South East Asia.

None of this is fundamental to football. The fact that it's been going on a long time won't ever make it a natural part of the game. SO are these not artificial limits on competition?

That is exactly what most of the clubs want. The want predictable revenue and guaranteed profits. If you offered them exactly that with guaranteed CL entry they'd snap your hands off.

Said on talksport there'll be a point deduction or expulsion from the league, they'll get a fine of about 20-50k and maybe a transfer ban for a window at the very most. The big clubs over here run the show.
